Just watched this episode on BBC2 and it was so emotional! That scene with Buffy on the tower when she was remembering her death had me crying! Anyways, I understand that Buffy didn't exactly want to get pulled out of heaven, wake up in a coffin and see her own grave which was why she didn't look very happy, but what did she mean when she said on the tower that 'Everything was clear and shiny before, but now....' Does this have something to do with her blurry vision?

Also I would like to point out that in Season 5 when Dawn brought her mother back, it was said that a person could be brought back but they would not be the same (I took this to mean they would be like a zombie) so how come this no longer applies?

It depends on the spells you use, and since Dawn isn't that great at magic, their is a high risk of Joyce turning out wrong, besides Joyce died of natural course. Willow however used far more advanced spell and had a way bigger power than Dawn. And the "Everything was clear and shiny before, but now...." probably means that when she was in heaven everything was nice, bright and shiny, but on Earth everything is all dark and painfull!

I think that what Buffy meant by this was that the last time she stood at the top of that tower (ie. immediately prior to her death) her way was clear. Her duty, her destiny and what she had to do (ie. sacrifice herself) was crystal clear to her with no doubt in her mind about what she had to do (Death is your gift).
This time on top of the tower, things were not so clear. They were confused and messy. She didn't know whether to jump and go back to being dead (because she shouldn't have been brought back - it was against nature), or whether she was meant toa have been brought back and her duty lay with staying to continue the slaying.

Face it the spell was the darkest of the dark way over the level of the one dawn did, dawns was a mear amateur spell, buffys could only be done by a magor wicka or warlock.

Because Joyce died of Natural Causes the human way but Buffy died not the human way. It also showed when Tara died Willow asked for her back n the thing said NO as she died of natural causes (shot) jus thought i tell ya!
