Anyone else seen it and feel like talking about it post, post I said!

Personally I loved it. Slow start, but once it started for real, it started for real.

So anyone got anything to say about Bale, Holmes, Murphy, the story, effects, anything?

the only thing i can say is that it was tight...everything....the sound...the visuals....the writing...the characters...tight...

the only dumb part was the cop dialogue during the chase....it was dumb...but...a movie like this gets a free pass...especially with a last line that it had...

This was actually better than I thought it would be.

Michael Cain was classic in this and the role suited him down to the ground. I think in a recent interview he said he loved the role.

I watched it with my dad and he said that this is mostly true to the comic, except his parents died in a car crash and weren't murdered. He said that the way the bat cave was constructed was very nearly spot on. Which is good in my opinion as I hate it when directors make a film and vere away from the comics.

I dont like it. Why couldn't Tim Burton make all Batman movies? This new one is just a crappy Troy/King Arthur/whatever bigbudgetepicmovie rip-off.

I hate to disagree with someone's dad but...in all the versions of Batman's origins that I know of the Waynes were murdered in front of young Bruce, getting shot after a trip to the cinema (to see a Zorro movie, I think) by either a hood called Joe Chill in the comic version or by Jack Napier (later the Joker)in the movie version. If there is a car crash version I would very much like to see it, as it would probably cast a different light on Bruce's motivation. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I'm looking forward to seeing this film. I've seen very good reviews - both in the Press and from friends, who I know like the same things as me.

gotta agree with oldie...it was definately right after the mask of zorro...plus oldie is right in the fact that it would make no sense for him to be batman if the parents died in a car crash...

doppelganger...i don't see how it was a rip off...i thought that this movie was incredibly creative and yet true to the essence of the bat...it breathed new life into this character...and comparing batman to troy is wrong....shame on you...lol

lol, yeah I know, it's so wrong. Because a) Troy sucks and b) I love Batman(verse). And I was way too harsh doing that, it was just a momentary thing. Actually, when I was comparing Batman Begins with Troy, I was more thinking about those scenes with the snow and Ducard teaching Bruce about fighting and yada yada. That was not only boring and annoying (cause my head screams 'Qui-Gon ' every time I see Liam Neeson), but it reminded me of movies like Troy, King Arthur, Alexander and what not. Maybe it's just my head that's totally screwed up. But I also think that hollywood has a 'thing' for shooting movies a certain way nowadays, I say mostly because the big Lord of the rings hype. After LotR came out, a whole bunch of these epical movies has been made, like the ones I mentioned above.
But other than that, the movie ain't that bad at all, esp not when the Batmobile starts rollin'.
I do prefer the two first movies, first and foremost because Tim Burton directed them. I like the fact that the first two Batman movies are not filled with special effects and that there's a more playful/cartooney approach to it. I'm totally in love with the very first Batman movie from 1966 with Adam West as Batman, nothing can beat that, not even Tim. And I like the old comics better, like the ones by Bob Kane or Don Cameron/Dick Sprang, than the new ones. Soo... End of rant.

I liked this one a lot. It was waaay better then the first four, but blah, I thought Batman Forever and Batman & Robin were better than the Tim Burton movies, which were totally boring.

This movie combined the training story from Spiderman and added the psycholigical depth of the Hulk. I liked the lil' jokes especially; the movie on the whole was a bit dark, but they lit it up just enough. Also, heads up for the cast; it was acted really well. Though Cillian Murphy looked a bit young, which made him a lil' less believable as some important psychiatrist, but he played his Scarecrow part really well!
