Given a choice, if you could have decided who Buffy's female lover would be in the "Wolves At The Gate" arc, would you have preferred Faith, or were you satisfied with it being Satsu?

I personally have always wanted Buffy and Faith to be closer as friends, though I have never believed that any kind of long term relationship between the two as lovers would have ever worked. On the other hand, given the choice between Faith or a newcomer in this situation, I believe that I would have preferred Faith.

Hmm... let me think, it's a tricky one, I think..... Fuffy, fuffy, fuffy, fuffy, a thousand times Fuffy. Their interaction was wonderful, they have a tight bond that nobody else can share, and they are way more canon than Batsu. 😛

WA - Why do you not think it would have worked out in the long-run? Sure, they have a lot of history and issues to work out but then so does any relationship.
sk8r - Why is Fuffy such a bad place to go?

Hmm, I thought you'd choose Satsu. :P

Tricky os so obvious that it sems like a trick.
I can't think of any plausible storyline where it could lead there. It wouldn't make sense. They've always shared a more sisterhood relationship. They definitely got the sibling rivalry down. I don't see them ever getting ANY kind of romantic.. not in any plausible way.

Fuffy, of course. Both in the Wolves at the Gate case and in long term relationship. If I was the writer, I'd bring Faith to WATG arc, right after what happened in No Future For You. And they'd talk and things would go smoothly. (sw)

I like Satsu. But Fuffy is perfect for each other. They have chemistry, history and more.

Fuffy! Even though I haven't read Season 8. I am going to say Fuffy all the way!

MinwaraYana agrees: Canon ship doesn't mean only about sex, IMO. 😛

True. Sex isn't the same as having a relationship. But considering TheVoid88's comment AC sure has a good point. In my eyes Batsu is more canon than Fuffy. Otherwise Bander for example is canon as well.

Not sure which I prefer though. I like both. Do a guy really have to choose between two sexy lesbians ships? 😉

I know TheVoid68 doesn't consider season 8 as canon. But if I'm not mistaken he also said that others are free to think otherwise (but I can be wrong about that.). And if that's true the discussion about which relationship is most canon will be difficult for him. Having his view (and not changing his mind) while accepting others opinions as well. It gets easier for those accepting that season 8 indeed is canon. No matter if you like it or not.

What bond would that be? That Buffy almost killed Faith? Since Buffy actually killed Angel I say that beats it. 😉 But I guess you meant something else. I just need help figuring out what it can be.

I know TheVoid68 believes like that. And even I read the comics, I'd say Fuffy is as canon as Batsu. In my eyes, their interaction on the series has depth in it. But that's my opinion, anyway. 🙂

Just of curiousiy then Min. Do you consider Bander canon? What about Spangel? Or is this special interaction just for Buffy and Faith?

But I guess you meant something else. I just need help figuring out what it can be.
Just to be clear. It's the "that nobody else can share" part I'm curious about. That they have a special connection I see as obvious.

I would definitely say Fuffy. I would settle for them just being closer friends but there's such chemistry there, I don't think it's a long-term romantic relationship in offing there but maybe a short-one 😀

I was being tounge-in-cheek about the "canon" thing. Obviously Batsu is more canon because it features explicitly in a Joss-endorsed product, while Fuffy is merely (heavy) subtext in the show proper. So Batsu is much closer to official canon, but Fuffy features in my personal canon. But I am sooo not getting in another canon debate. 😛

(For the record, Bander is something that proves how murky the definition of canon is when it comes to relationships. Buffy and Xander were never together, but Xander canonically had feelings for Buffy, so therefore it is somewhat canon. And then Fuffy is absolutely not explicitly canon, but there is heavy subtext that one could interpret as romantic feelings on both sides, moreso than, say Buffy/Oz or Buffy/Drusilla. So Fuffy is somewhat more canon than Boz and Brusilla. Like I say, murky waters)

I mean the slayer bond. Only they know what it's like to be the slayer, the lonliness, the isolation, the responsibility. Sure there are hundereds of slayers now, but not one of them knows what it's like to be one half of the Chosen Two.

I guess Kendra never got close enough to Buffy to count even if she fits into the first part.

Like The Void68 said, Xander's feeling for Buffy in S1 is real. I'm not sure about Buffy's feeling for Xander in S8. But the point is, they've never had romantic feeling for each other at the same time. So the Bander romantic relationship has never happened. They've been only good friends.

And Spangel, there's "that one time" people talk about. But one time is still one time since almost 100 years ago so I don't think there's anything other than that. They were in the same gang, fought against each other and learned to respect each other when they both have a soul.

And Fuffy interaction is mostly from the subtexts they gave us and I just take it seriously. I'm not talking about only when they dance, the kisses on the forehead, the heart on the window and the double-meaning dialogue. I talk about the look in the eyes whether when they feel happy, angry or hurt when they're around each other.

Beautiful way to put it.

Nope, 'fraid not. Buffy and Kendra in theory had that bond, but their bond was never as strong and Buffy and Faith's - they were friends, but Buffy and Faith were.... god knows what, but they were undoubtedly strongly bonded. And Buffy and Kendra never had that blatant raging sexual tension either. 😛

It's hard to have sexual tension with Kendra.
I definitely prefer Fuffy. 😀 As others said, they had a lot of chemistry and a great connection, plus, they fight really well together. Good team of two hot ladies. 😀

Batsu also seemed really random and OOC to me. I just couldn't get into it, it was like "what the HECK? Where did this come from?" But I digress. 😀

See, imo, Fuffy was an actual relationship with history and love (kinda 😉 ), whereas Batsu was a random one-night stand of experimenting.

Fuffy, just 'cause I want to see it. But that's not to put down Batsu. I love their whole interaction in the comics.

Wow, I didn't know there were so many fellow Fuffy fans.. or is this just a preference to Satsu? Lol. 😛

As you probably don't know, I've always loved Fuffy. Their relationship would be hot, intriguing, and make for some great storytelling! Forget Spuffy, Fuffy will always have my vote!
