I think this show deserves its own thread, im up to the last episode of season 2 and it really is a fantastic show. If the awesomeness keeps up it might even overtake Buffy and become my second favourite show of all time!!
I finished BSG pretty recently. I started watching it so I'd understand what the frak was going on with Caprica (another great series, btw. At least so far) and got hooked fast. I haven't watched the Pegasus miniseries yet, but I plan to get to it soon.
BSG is so good. The only thing I have left to watch is The Plan and that's just because I heard how lacking it was, and it's mostly archive footage. I'll get around to it one day hopefully.

This is the kind of show that I for some reason forget that I really, really like. I don't rewatch the episodes very often. But every time I start talking about BSG (or usually Starbuck actually) I do get really excited and remember again.
I liked the first seasons the best, up to season 3 I think.
I watched "Razor" last night. It was pretty nifty. Not quite what I was expecting; I expected the story of the Pegasus to be told in a straightforward manner the way the story of Galactica was told, but they did it in flashbacks based around one of Lee Adama's first missions as commander of the Pegasus. And all that stuff that the original XO of the Pegasus told Tigh and said he was joking about? He wasn't.
Just something that I found out recently, which will mean more to BG fans than me--The actress who played "Boomer" will be starring in the new "Hawaii Five-O" starting this fall. I don't know what she wore in BG, but she looks GREAT in a bikini, and she does pretty well in the martial arts department, too.
As much as I love Buffy and Firefly, BSG is the best show ever in my book. It's so ridiculously brilliant and probably the most emotionally manipulative show ever...I'm literally on the edge of my seat during every episode (well, except Black Market, that one sucked) and I get misty-eyed just thinking about a lot of the emotional moments. Plus, I love how there are no definitive "good guys" or "bad guys" since it really makes the show seem that much more real.
I still haven't seen Razor or Caprica, though. I'm pretty excited to watch Razor but I can't get myself to care about Caprica because I'm too attached to the BSG characters and don't see the point of watching a show set in their universe without them.
Just watched the 90 minute opening episode of season 3. Thoughts below...
Lee's weight gain is hilarious
I'm really starting to dislike Baltar, its his fault for everything thats happened so far. Pretty much every character hates him.
I really like how the humans are doing anything they can to hurt the cylons, even suicide bombings, they're desperate.
Ellen is pissing me off even though i know she's just trying to protect Saul, also i cant believe he lost an eye!
Adama looks totally mexican with a moustache
I loved the scene where they were arresting all the conspirators, with filming in nightvision it really made it eerie, and with Cally screaming for her baby made it really sad.
Also liked Laura Roslyn and Tom Zareks little convo in the new caprica police truck.
The chief shouldnt grow facial hair.
The whole jump forward 1 year was just a great idea in general.
So much stuff has happened and i really like the fact that there are going to be huge consequences, i like that things happen and wont be the same again.
Upon reading this thread I finally watched the miniseries. Now just have to start watching the actual show. It was good, but I really got bored of the Gaius/Six scenes over and over again (although six is quite attractive). I have a feeling I'm not going to like him. I like Lee Adama, his father, and the President.. the Chief and Starbuck kind of annoyed me. Going to watch a few episodes later.
BeaumondeWhen I first watched BSG I got bored with the miniseries, but later in the year I came back to watch it again and I was hooked after episode 4.

I know some people who didn't like the Season 3 stuff, but I absolutely loved it! I thought New Caprica was a great idea.
About Caprica, it's not as good as BSG IMO and the characters so far aren't good enough to take away anything from the BSG characters. For me it's easy to see them as two seperate shows. It's just some nice insight into Capricas past.
