I don't know if this board ever had virtual money, but I've seen a few boards like this with the feature. It's basically like you get 5 BBbucks everytime you post, and 10 BBucks everytime you make a thread. You can also donate money to each other.

I thought it might be useful in the Arts section so users could donate e-money to the banner-makers to make the stuff. And we could have auctions in there lol 🙂
 
Or what about, when ever you make a post, have some sort of system where if you like something you give them points, bulk up a reputation of some kind?

I don't know, i'm just thinking off the top of my Head here, call it something like...erm Karma?
 
And what would be the purpose of this "e-money"? Is it just another fun but useless thing like karma?

Well no, because karma is given when you make a decent post. E-money could be for just fun, mainly in the art section...

and "You can also donate money to each other." wouldnt be a sign of appreciation.
I see no reason to reward someone e-bucks for just posting....i mean why should the person who types....yes.................. as a response get 5 e-bucks while the person who writes almost a book in one post gets the same.
Then you also have the basics that people would abuse it to gain e-money.

Karma on the other hand is about if what you say someone agrees with, you have to earn that..

This is not that great an idea........

Yes, just not a good one.
If you need people to 'pay' for your art fair enough, but most people here are fine with doing the art because they like doing it and are pleased that people 'wear' their work for the board to see.
 
Meh, fine, it was just pretty popular in other boards...*rolls eyes* close this thread.

it was wasnt it.....don't cry boy. So someone thought your idea stank like a babies diaper, you'll have others that will too, of that i'm sure:)
Actually, BB did have a feature like that a long time ago. Where you could buy larger avatars, or custom name-decorations and stuff like that with the virtual money... and yes PJ, you could steal then. (Albeit, if you got "caught" your bank-saldo would decrease significantly.)
 
wasn't there something like this on the boards before? (way before my time, so maybe an older member can help me out?)
i always heard reference to something about money, and buying stuff from a store, but i think it was decided that no one really used it much so it was taken away.
