You know, I just wonder if anyone knows if I could find a screenshot with this subforum that existed when I joined. About a month after I joined, the board had a big renovation. (and believe me, that was torture!) But before the renovation, there was this newbie subsection for people with less than 100 posts to post so it wasn't scary and they could have their first posts (actually, fun fact: there is a thread that I've seen several times since then about favorite characters which is started by me... I started it in there and it was my first thread). Anyway... when it came back, that subforum was gone. And I've been trying to remember where it was located (which sub heading) and what it looked like.
Just do an advanced search for threads started by you, and have it order ascending instead of descending and it should be at the top.

I'm curious about that early history.
Obviously there was a buffy-boards around already back in 2001. But it's February 2002 that Darla counts as the start. Which seems to be when buffy-boards starts to redirect its traffic to buffybytes.com. (love the name buffybytes btw) And a year later moving back to the buffy-boards domain. Probably when some ownership had expired or something.
Anyway... it made me curious about how the whole thing got started for Darla.
Besides that I'm impressed about the size of the board already from the beginning and it's great fun to see those early versions of vBulletin.

It is a long long...long...story.
The original founder of "buffy-boards.com" was a guy named Matt, who also started charmed-boards. I became a mod in July 2001 and joined Faith, edb and FunkyMunky on the staff (as well as others). At some point I think it was in the fall? Matt decided to get rid of the board and he passed it on to the mods who were online at the time, because he was going to just delete it and they convinced him not to.
So...Faith, edb, FunkyMunky and I had some...creative differences with the new admin. So while I was on vacation lol the three of them decided to leave the staff and board. And after a hectic aol conversation I left too. And I proceeded to get BLAMED for the others leaving but that is a different story entirely...
So Matt, Faith, edb, FunkyMunky and I went in as co-owners of a board at after-darkness.com, which was a url that Matt owned and had used before but had never been able to make anything of. It was general sci fi and included forums for Buffy and Angel.
But somewhere in January or so Matt got the itch to have a Buffy and Angel-only board again and he approached me about it. So he and I as co-owners set up a board at buffybytes.com, and Faith, edb, FunkyMunky came onboard with us (plus other moderators).
Now...the tricky part. The "old" buffy-boards was still going, and being hosted (for free) by Faith's friend. Faith's friend and the staff of the old BB had a falling out, and he deleted the board from his server. Matt still owned the buffy-boards.com url, so he pointed it at buffybytes.com, so we had in essence 2 urls. I will swear on Bailey Chase's life that neither I nor Matt had anything to do with the deleting of the board, but of course we got accused of it, and the old BB people set up a new board called Slayer Boards.
We used the Buffybytes name for a while but at some point we decided to go back to buffy-boards. I think it was a couple months after we opened (might not have been that long) that Matt sold the board to me because he decided he didn't really want to run boards anymore.
And that's why we count the beginning of the board in 2002, when I established ownership of it, when a buffy-boards existed before that.
