BB Tricks & Tips #5 How to Use a Gallery Pic as Avatar

This week's tip is about using a picture that's in the gallery as an avatar.

1. Visit the Media Gallery (click on the Media tab in the toolbar).

2. Select the Category that is called "Avatars" from the list at the left.

3. Browse until you find a picture you want to use.

4. Click on its thumbnail, which will open the image in its own page.

5. Beneath the image name on the left hand side, there is a row of icons. The one at the very left looks like a person. If you mouse over it the tooltip says, "Use Media as Avatar". Click on that button.

6. An overlay will come up asking for you to confirm your choice - click on "Set Avatar".

I do not see such a thing. There is nothing for Avatars listed.. This is what I see:

Click on "Media" to open the gallery.

Yeah, I gathered that.. there still is nothing called avatars anywhere in sight..

You're on New Media not the main page.

You have to click Browse All Media on the right hand side. That needs to be step 2. Without clicking that I did not get the Nav panel on the left.


Ok. If there is anything unviewed then you do not get the Nav panel and have to click the Browse All Media. If you have everything marked as viewed, the nav panel defaults open.

I don't need to click that to get the nav panel...are you using your phone?

I have used phone, tablet and computer. I have used Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Dolphin. As long as there was new media I could not access the nav panel without clicking the Browse all link. But now that I marked all media as viewed it comes up all the time.
