BB Twitter

I think i might get an account. My best friend is always going on about how Stephen Fry follows her, or comments on her stuff or something like that lol!! Sounds interesting...i think i heard that Alan Carr does it too, he's a very funny man :lol2:

Heard about twitter for some time but never checked it out.

Never knew about anything interesting to follow. Today I see two things within an hour.
Guess that means it's time to get an account. 🙂

I made me a Twitter account a little while ago because a friend told me that I had to see something.
I joined (I did not know you didn't have to sign up to read peoples, what are they called - "tweets"?) and have not used it since.

Being perfectly honest, I do not understand it but at all!
Its just the Facebook Status without the Facebook?

You send messages via your status but how do you reply?

Aww, actually, I'm not sure I care or want to because the last thing I need is something else to be addicted to online!

You can actually reply to people's messages.



I just haven't figured out how yet. Something to do with the @ symbol.

Hover over the mesasge you want to reply to and click the arrow that come's up by the side :)
Yea i never really understood Twitter. Is it true that its just like facebook updates but without the facebook? Im curious how this ever took off the way it did if thats all it is. So theres no profiles or anything?

I suppose, one thing it'll do is show us just how hard it is to run a board with BS updates.
 
To reply to someone, you mouseover their "tweet" and a little icon comes up with a tooltip that says "reply to X". Then your message comes up with a little @ so-and-so before it. You can also direct message people which is like private messages.

I would suggest for anyone who cares lol but doesn't want to bother with an account to just bookmark the BB page so you can read updates if the board is down.

Or subscribe to the RSS feed

And that reply thing only works if you use the actual Twitter site. I use Netvibes to view tweets and i can't reply like that
