Ok folks we have watched the eps now let us know what you think?

I kinda zoned out a bit on Some Assembly but there was a great dialog involved in the When She Was Bad episode regarding the nature of Buffy. That actually was a wonderful. So I just wanted to thank everyone involved for that, and while I stopped arguing by NO MEANS, KEAN, does that mean I agree with you or that you even won! But you did present some valid points that made me think. And to Kali, I think you MAY be right regarding Buffys ability to be herself around Angel; I thought it was simply because being a slayer was still new which allowed her to be open, but maybe it was just him. Stuck, buy a printer so next time you dont leave!

I too zoned out (it was all the Angelness.... needed to take a cold shower, after melting a bit!)..... but I do think Angel is the last man she will ever lose herself to and allow herself to completely trust. It's being let down by him later on that capitulates on her already apparent Daddy issues from the break up of her parent's marriage, and as Angel is her first (arguably, to our knowledge , only) real love, it's that adolescent naivete of romantic love that allows her to do it.

It is a real bummer when you grow up and realise at the end of the day, you can only rely upon yourself. This is evident from Becoming part II.

Angelus: Now that's everything, huh? No weapons... No friends... No
hope.

Buffy closes her eyes and steels herself for whatever's coming.

Angelus: Take all that away... and what's left?

He draws the sword back and thrusts it directly at her face. With
lightning-fast reflexes she swings up with both arms and catches the
blade between the palms of her hands. She opens her eyes and meets his.

Buffy: Me.

Everyone after that point was doomed - she was always going to hold on to a core something that would protect her.

And some assembly required? Not a fave ep of mine. Bit dull. But Willow's eyes look amazing in the photo's! HUGE!

Thanks for the salty goodness Kean. That got me through the night!

Excellent observation; that actually may be where it all started.

And my word! I had enough drooling from the two of you during the screening, I do not need to continue it here! You should be ashamed of your objectification of him! (sorry, just had to say that again for posterity)

When She Was Bad is a great ep...if not only for the famous "Joan Collins 'tude" confrontation.

Some Assembly Required...who doesn't love a Cordelia-in-distress episode? And I loved the scene with them all in the graveyard...

in the ep When she wasbad we get to see that buffy can be a witch with a captial B. I love that she dances with xander like she did but hated that she said that to him I was like god buffy! then the thing that I rember most is her and cordy in the ally,

cordy: buffy....your really capaining for the Bitch of the Year arent you?
buffy:as defending champion are you nervous?
cordy:I can hold my own.

it was bloody priceless. and her joan tude i wonder if thats why she named herself joan in taba rasha ep?

We seemed to get a bit side tracked a couple of times during the eps with some debating. I really enjoyed the fact that we could still have so much to say about the show all this time later.

The main issues of contention were Buffy using Xander as her emotional play thing when they do 'the sexy dance'

How we never see Buffy open up to anyone the way she does with Angel again. When she breaks down at the end of WSWB she completely leans on him and allows him to be there for her. She never does that with any other character. It's sad that she loses that.

Oh and there may have been some chat about the deliciousness that is Angel😀

While we were watching Monday I think the issue was wether or not Buffy was using Xander with that whole dance thing... or thats what Kean and Sco said they'd gotten into Saturday. I don't think she was using him... I think it was more of a cruel teasing, like she was purposefully setting out to make a fool out of him and hurt him... why she exactly did that I really still don't understand, other than just feeling like being a bitca to hide her true emotions? But I don't think it was using, cause I mean, she didn't stand do gain anything from doing that to him.

She used him to piss Angel off. She knew that Angel was jealous of Xander and wanted to push his buttons. Xander got to be the guinea pig. She was messing with his head because she knew that Xander liked her. It was cruel.

Yeah okay, that does make sense... I forgot for a second that Angel was there watching, but yeah thats right she'd just gotten done talking to Angel right before she went and danced with Xander... watching and typing when the TV is behind me is very bad 😉

If you are going to take my side do it for longer than ONE festering post!

Okay now I can agree with you Kean, because I too forgot that Angel was there (and you never mentioned it till now!)

Crude.. the other debate I lost too.. I should just stick to making sexist remarks. Wasnt Principal Synder hot in that episode? I just love what he did with his ears.
