Hello gentle viewers. Cangel and I would like to introduce you to the BuffyBoard TV Friends thread.

I has become apparent that quite a few people on this board enjoy F.R.I.E.N.D.S. almost as much as they enjoy Buffy.

This thread can be used to start the discussions. So, viewers. Where would you like to start? The beginning or somewhere in the action? S5 perhaps?

Mods: Social studies seemed the most appropriate since its not Whedon related but feel free to move if you like.

I would think TO in Vegas would be a good start, as I have just preloaded it ^^

Maybe we should open an IRC channel for the actual watching, you know, like we have for the Buffy.

Ohhh that works out well because E4 as of tomorrow will be playing Friends from episode one - it has it on continuous viewing and the last episode was tonight.

FYI - They will, in case you didn't know

will what?
Starting from the beginning tomorrow with e4 would allow a lot more to get involved since a lot of people dont have the entire series.

Those outside of the UK, well, your just gonna have to go buy the series now arn't ya!

To be fair, its never been cheaper. The whole show is based around the Ross/Rachel 'will they/won't they'!

I'm gonna be really annoying and petty and ask why someone outside the UK would buy region 2 dvd..off of amazon.co.uk....lol But i love this idea...love friends!! Kudos XD
What I don't like about the idea of watching it together with television is that we would all be bound to the exact hours it airs and I'm sure they're not so good for everyone (America, for example; or I have class from 4pm-6pm, so that might also interfere). And I don't know exactly WHEN it airs, but I assume during the week, so that would mean we would be watching 5 times a week, which is just a little over the top. Multiple episodes are okay, but then it's better to just watch a few in one go and don't make it a daily event IMO.
Also - on TV you have commercial break, on DVD you don't 😉

Ahh. Good point. Ok, well ill leave it up to you, maybe leave it a day and get more people. It still might make sense to start it from the beginning tho...i dunno.

Damn it you just ruined the entire show!

Just a note that while of course you guys can watch Friends episodes together if you want, this isn't a "Board-sponsored Activity".

Okay, I wanted to ask about everyone's status on this.
Should we just do some sort of 'test-airing' where we all watch a random epiosde together, just to see how many people would show up and how much interest there is in general? Maybe (if the mods/admins don't mind) we could use the BBTV channel on icechat for communication while we watch?

After we're done we could use the results of the testrun for further planning. That would be my suggestion.

If everyone agrees we only need to settle on a day and time to do this.
