I would suggest that if people have constructive help to give that they do so in this forum, rather than jumping all over Keanoite. This is a member activity, so as Keano said, nothing is set in stone about it.

Sorry I couldn't get to this sooner guys but I had a paper on to write that just couldn't wait. I don't want you think you were being ignored.

I want to clarify something because I think wires have been crossed. BBtv was borne out of SPHS's request for a place on BB where you could watch the show together. That's exactly what we want to provide. We were not 'stealing' anyone's idea we were actually accomodating them. Neither myself nor the rest of the staff appreciate being accused of stealing ideas. It's not cool. We have had people do that to us and we don not take it lightly. I take great offense to it on both mine and the staff's behalf.


BBtv is something we want the entire board to par-take in and enjoy. This is for you all so I want you to work with us on this. Tell me what what you want to see. How it will work for you, and I will do everything in my power to make that happen.

So Buffy-Board members, answer me these few questions:

*What do you want to watch?

*When can you watch it?

*What time zone do you live in?

If you have any other ideas or suggestions please feel free to let us know. We want to hear from you.

YES!! Glad you ask, as I ALWAYS have ideas. Being the Deadwood fan that I am there was a certain character that would always say a certain word.. however that one word cannot be repeated here. Your typical drinking game kinda thing. We could incorporate something like that into the episodes. Whenever you hear for instance, "Angel" the first person to say (or type it) well.. crap, I guess that's where the drinking part comes in.. okay, I am halfway there, someone help me out. Make it an interactive experience more than just saying "oh my gawd I would love that red handbag!" erm.. wink wink

okay, im being a lurker in this thread, since im not actually sure whether ill do this or not, but i have an idea! :silly: maybe it would be a good idea to make a staked thread listing the time zone of all the partaking members? then, people would know where the majority is, and wouldnt continually have to ask "so, what time zone are you in again?"

I really feel that BBtv would work out best over the weekends. You can try to coordinate time zones and everything, but during the week it just doesn't seem like it will work for everyone on the boards. People work, spend time with their families, go to school, etc.

I think setting up times on the weekends would be fabulous!

I would love to be able to make it to these screenings and if my schedule coordinates with a screening I will for sure participate. I work in a restaurant though so my schedule varies alot and weekends I'm usually stuck there all day, not all the time though. I know weekends is the time thats most convinient for the most people... I'll just hope I get tossed a Saturday or Sunday off once in a while so i can come hang 🙂

1.What do you want to watch? Buffy and Angel, not necessarily in sequence (like, we could make a history night...with flashback episodes from both shows)
2.When can you watch it? For me it's best when I have class in the morning because those are usually the days I don't go out. Right now this means sundays, tuesdays and thursdays, but my block is almost over so next one it could be different.
3.What time zone do you live in? GMT+1 (Brussels, Copenhagen, Paris)

the problems we had (we being shps) was that some members who syncd didnt have access to irc
time zones (thankfully aussie has weird no sleeping it seems so kudos to her!)

thumbs up... we had polls on what to watch, good communication (most of the time hehe)

im glad we have a mod supported version of this now.

Okies I had a reply all typed out but the Internet ate it so for now I will just answer your questions Keanoite-
What do you want to watch - Buffy/Angel/Firefly of course but movies would be great too
When can you watch it- I found with the other one that weekdays worked better for me (yes screwed up sleeping patterns 😛) Even if I was around on weekends I usually wanted to just chat rather than watch an ep or movie.
What timezone do you live in - Im on Perth time so 8 hours ahead according to your other thread. But if I know when things are going to be on I will make an effort to attend. I didnt even know about the first screening and Im here most days I duno how I missed this whole section of the forum.

I set up the java chat link (top right of the tool bar) for people who had problems with an IRC program. 🙂

Well that was my fault because I had anticipated opening the forum earlier than I did so there wasn't as much time between then and when Kean had planned the first showing (which was just to give people a chance to see what it was all about and try it out before giving their own ideas).

We did keep posting about it in the thread you guys put up in the help forum...I thought we were all on the same page about what was happening but it seems that wasn't the case and I apologize for that. Honestly, the staff didn't know anything about you guys holding your own showings of things other than RHPS.

Well, without wanting to stir up the hornets nest here, Wednesday nights at 8pm GMT are fine by me for watching the Buffy ep's in sequence.

If, as is currently the case on SHPS Sunday night is movie night and again, if I have the movie, I'm happy to watch and chat about either on IRC.

Nobody wants to cause trouble. That was not what all of this was about. There is no reason why we can't all do this together.

While I think we have Halloween under control I am interested in getting the general weekly screenings sorted out.

SPHS already have something going on that worked nicely for them. A screening on Wednesdays and Sundays. I like this idea. Almost makes it feel like the show is back on.

We can carry on from where SPHS are at the moment which I believe is Season 2 of Buffy. They have been meeting at 8PM GMT on both nights and watching the show.

We could start fresh again all together. I am drawn more to this as it means we are all on the same page. I would hope that we would carry on with Angel too when we get to it.

Both could run at the same time. I like this idea except the main drawback for me is that it divides the viewership and basically defeats the purpose of doing this at all.

As for Saturday and Sunday they are open for discussion. I was thinking it would be nice to have a matinee on either of these days.

I vote starting afresh. I/we might not be around for some of the less good eps that I/we've just seen, but I think it's the better option.
