Becoming Part 2, Angelus, and Acathla

I've been wondering this. When Angelus and Buffy were fighting in Becoming P2, Buffy was about to decapitate him. Acathla was about to open and only Angel/Angelus's blood could close it. If Buffy decapitated him, he would be dust. No blood. Then, Acathla will open and wackiness ensues. That's the thing that's wrong with the ep.
 
I don't think Buffy knew Angel opened Acathla. She was trying to kill him before he opened it but she was too late.
 
Who would try to kill ANGEL/ANGELUS???Gurr....He is so freakin HOT!Ok im calm!
 
I think Buffy did know that Angelus had opened Acathla coz he was fighting with the sword he pulled out of the statue.
I don't know how she would have closed Acathla though.
 
i agree,she didnt know.She was hugging angel and then she opened her eyes and saw the vortex she was like surprised(and sad obviously)
 
Perhaps Buffy didnt even know about the blood thing, I mean, unless I missed Giles telling her something about the blood, ok, color me confused!

no she couldnt kill angelus/angel because hell needed to take sumone and angel was there...but it one takes the weak not the strong.
and plus..she loves angel too much to kill him....even is she sleeping with Spike.

I can't remember them saying that Angel needed to be sucked into the portal to close it, but then again I can't remember where I heard it was his blood that needed to close the portal.

Anyway, my point being, if all the portal needed was Angel's blood to close it, why not cut his hand and then put the sword back into Acathla again?
 
Yeah... Angel's blood was the key to opening Acathla.

and as Whistler said... "One blow will send them both back to hell."

Buffy knew that Angel has activated Acathla because he pulled the sword out from him and they had that swordfight. I think in all the choas of Angel getting his soul back,she forgot about it and then was surprised and obviously sad when she saw the vortex beginning.

I honestly don't know why she raised the sword like she was going to decapitate him, but since she didn't and he got his soul, so in the end she could pierce him and Acathla together, it all worked out, so I'm not worrying about it.

i also dont think she noticed the decapatating(sp?) thing,she was pretty into the fight to notice and like spikedbuffy said it all worked out so...
 
come on kids, Buffy watches Angel pull the sword out of acathla, he says to her " shows over, you're going to hell." she says, "save me a seat". they fight and fight and fight, but how do we know that just because she was holding the sword that way, that she was going to decapitate him? it's an educated guess, but as it works out, she doesnt decapitate him, and sends him back to hell the proper way. heheh, something doesnt sound quite right with that

Buffy is really absentminded then. You'd think she'd remember something like Angelus pulling the sword out...

She went in there prepared to kill him and she's not sleeping with Spike during this time, nor was she sleeping with him during the time you posted this and sleeping with someone doesn't mean you truly love them... Angel's blood was the only way to close the portal and it couldn't take someone that was *just* there. Sorry, I'm just ranting 😉...
 
I agree with SpikedBuffy.

btw angel_freak... that banner is so moving... and so appropriate for this thread! 🙂
