Okay, so pardon my delinquency in Buffy knowledge, but I can't seem to figure out why Buffy needed to kill Angel/us in Becoming Part Two? How did that seal Acathla? I have seen the episode countless times and I guess part of me must understand the logic, but I'm not adding up all the pieces in my head right now.

Oh and hey all - this is my first post in a loooooong time. 🙂

I think it was something to do if Buffy killed the one who opened the portal it would be closed.
 
Angel used his blood to "activate" Acathla...and I believe it worked in a similar way to Dawn's blood opening the portal in The Gift...kill the person whose blood opened it, and the portal closes. That's what I got out of it...
 
What PurplePoof said, hehe. Whistler said that if Angel open's the seal it would have started somthing huge and the between the lines was that the only way to end it was to finish with what started it- Angel. And as his blood was the key that woke up demon-boy....

It is similar to the whole Dawn/Key/Gate thing, except I think with Acathla it was more a wanting-a-sacrifice theme. I think looking more closely at the ritual would explain it A LOT better, haha.
 
Well the way it is explained in the episode is that it's his blood that's needed to close the portal. And really, it sounds like they could have just sliced his hand a little and dripped it in there .... BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT. That wouldn't have been anywhere near as dramatic and sad. 'cause DAMN that scene makes me cry EVERY TIME..... I'm such a sook. 😛
 
I never understood why the always say that she killed Angel...she didn't. Angel is stabbed with a sword like a hundred times on Angel. I am sure that it could be considered death because of the hell dimension. But she didnt actually kill him. She just sent them to hell lol. Every time they mention that situation they say killed and it just bothers me.

I've been saying that ever since the show first aired. Not only did Buffy NOT kill Angel, she most likely contributed substantially to his survival be providing him with a weapon, the sword, with which to defend himself.

I watched it last night and I totally cried too 🙂
 
I think, to her, she killed him. Does that make sense? In her heart, she killed him by stabbing him and sending him to hell. its just as bad to her.

I was just going to say this. You read my mind 🙂 It doesn't matter where he is, if he's dead...he's gone to her. 🙁
 
Poor Buffy its a kinda sick Romeo and Juliet moment eh?
Instead of you stabbing yourself you kill your b/f who was already dead , sending him to hell and end up doing some psychological damage to yourself . Really sad, I don't cry I just scream at the TV NOOOOOO don't do it hes your lobster.
