Just something that probably has a simple answer which i'm probably missing lol but it's been on my mind so thought i'd ask!

After watching Becoming a week or so ago, in part 2 when Spike leaves Angelus and pretty much admitting to himself that he is going to kill her, why didn't he help her? He knew that if Angelus killed Buffy that it would pretty much be the end of the world, which he went to Buffy for in the first place since he didn't want that.

So would you have thought that he would have helped? Even though his priority was to get away with Dru, if Angelus had killed Buffy then it wouldn't have made a difference if he and Dru got away would it?

Because he didn't really care about the fate of the world. He only cared for Dru.

That pretty much sums it up, to quote Oz. 😉 Seriously, Spike was only in it for him and Dru. He formed the alliance to save his own ass and the woman he loved; he didn't care about Buffy or anyone else. Why should he have helped her?

I agree that he didn't care about Buffy, but I think that he would've cared about the fate of the world. His reasons for teaming up with Buffy were two-fold: One was Dru, the other was Happy Meals on legs. I guess he just wanted to get him and Dru out of there as fast as possible, and as much as he didn't want the world to end, he wouldn't help a Slayer.

I think, that while he did want to save the world, he wasn't about to leave a unconscious Drusilla laying around while helping Buffy.

the main reason he was in the deal with buffy was dru. The rest 9inclusing Buffy and the rest of the world) took a backseat. maybe not logical after why he said he wanted to team up, but for Spike it made sense :p
I agree that Spike was just in it to get Dru back and nothing else. He might have said his motivations were 'happy meals on legs' and they may have been at the time, but once he got Dru back he was no longer bothered.

One thing that's always bothered me about the Buffy/Angel fight was when he was nelt in front of the statue it looked like Buffy was getting ready to kill him (and I mean cut his head off and turn him to dust). But then he turns from Angelus to Angel and stops her, which later allows her to run him through with a sword and close the gate to hell.

But if he hadnt stopped her from be-heading him how would she have then closed the gate?

I, and many fanfic writers it seems, think that his blood would have sufficed, not his life, so that could ahve worked (or give Angel a minor cut and splash on the statue). But if his life was really needed, you're right. Biiig problem.
