I'm new to the board, but I started watching Angel when I found out that Robert Hall was the creator of the "monsters" that you see each week on the show. He is extremely talented and I marvel at his work, each and every week.
I wanted to let you all know that if you like the monsters and appreciate Robert's work, he has an independent movie that he wrote/directed and produced, titled "Lightning Bug" (lightningbugthemovie) that is looking for distribution. The movie has many stars, including, Laura Prepon (That 70's show), Hal Sparks (Queer as Folk), Ashley Laurence (Hellraiser) and Bret Harrison (Grounded for Life).
Here is a short summary, if you are interested.
The film revolves around a poor young boy named Green, (Bret Harrison) living in rural Northern Alabama. He wants to grow up and become a special effects make-up artist in Hollywood. He lives in a mobile home with his mother Jenny,(Ashley Laurence) brother Jay and his new stepfather Earl. His new stepfather is just as much a monster as those he creates with whatever money he can scrap up. While he is trying to achieve his dream, he meets a girl at the video store, Angevin. (Laura Prepon) She's everything he wants in a girl and she's a horror film buff. The people at the "Holy Calling of the Southern Saints" think that Green and his monsters are going to hell. Green hopes that he will be able to show his work off at the Halloween Haunted House that is open every year. He also hopes to use the money he makes at this haunted house to buy a ticket out of town. Will everything work out for Green?
I've had the pleasure of seeing this movie and you as Angel fans, would not be disappointed in it. We have put up a petition asking for the movie to be released.
