Being Human UK vs US

It is season three that is showing at the moment. Probably not the best place to start as the story is completely tied up to everything that happened at the end of season two. Particularly with Mitchell.

I've only seen a couple of episodes of the US version so far but up to now it's not impressed me greatly. Will keep watching though.

Yeah, season 3 is airing now. I'd say you would be quite confused if you didn't watch S1 & 2 of Being Human.

I gave up on Being Human :-( US version anyway. It got boring reaaaal quick.

I never got around to watching UK version, but I will soon, hopefully it's better.

Oh, it is! Massively!

I can't put my finger on what is missing from the US version exactly. It just doesn't have the same grit as the original. It's not brutal enough, if you get what I mean? Too sterile. Something is definitely not quite right with it, that's for certain.

I found it kind of annoying to watch after a few weeks. I was actually like oh god this isn't over yet??

The whole "bishop" thing is not played well enough, there needs to be more of a villain or Aiden needs to kill a human or fall in love with a human and tell her is secret. Idk something is def missing there.

I was watching the most recent US ep last night and it occurred to me that I think the difference is that the UK show is taken much more seriously. The US version is more "fluff" like Warehouse 13.

I think they're trying to make it lighter because people seem to like a nice balance of broodiness and comedy. Most of the more successful sci-fi shows over here have had that, so I think that's why it's more "fluffy". LOL

If I start watching Being Human, which version should I watch?

Well if you start with the US version you'll get in early enough to not be swamped with episodes to watch. 🙂

Don't listen to Darla! She's just mad 'cause Sam Witwer is in the US version. LMAO 😉

You'll have 13 episodes available of the US and 22 for the UK. But the quality of the UK ones are so much better that you'll WANT more episodes.

No, I'm mad cause the US one is a crap ripoff where there's no crafting of the story.

All three series of the UK version is only the length of a full US season, so there's not much swampage. 😉

I'll add my vote for you watching the UK version. Original and best. 🙂

Just a note, watch all of season one of the UK version BEFORE you watch the unaired pilot. It's good for story reasons to watch it but they recasted 2 of the leads and didn't air it for a reason.

My inner pedant forces me to confirm that the pilot was indeed aired - as part of a BBC3 new shows pilot strand- I don't think many of us watched it...I found it most confusing when the show actually started that only George was the same 🙂

I still could not get into the UK version I was going to give it another shot but just can't bring myself to do it. I will try again soon I guess.

I really like the US version I think over the episodes it has gotten great and I prefer Aidan to Mitchell acting wise. That is actually what threw me off.

I love the US version..though I have not seen the UK version and I don't really plan to(but I always say I don't plan to do things and I end up doing them 😀 i.e. watch angel, read the comics) I'm pretty hooked on the US one and I am in love with Josh...he's so cute and fluffy..he reminds me of a lil puppy 🙂 lol
