I have never seen the US but I have the first few episodes and am excited to watch it. I haven't seen the UK but if I ever have time I will check it out.

I love that America remakes shows, I hate that people think an American version is dumbed down version of the show, thats not the case, it's that the sense of humor that doesn't work.

Im from Ireland, so couldn't get much closer to England, but I just don't get the English shows, I don't find them funny, the only English shows I've actually enjoyed are Doctor Who, Torchwood, Skins, Top Gear and Hex (Which I think would have been better as an American show)

And I usually prefer the American version of shows, IMO, the American Office is miles better then the English one. I've loved what I've seen so far of US Shameless is brilliant, where I hate the English version.

They don't always work, the US Skins was so bad, truly awful!

I love the UK Version, I have a feeling I won't be watching the last episode of Season 3 I have this horrible feeling that I'm gonna get what I want when Mitchell and Annie get together, if they do and Then Mitchell's gonna die and I can't watch that so I'm watching until the episode before the last one and then I'm not watching the last one until I either find out He didn't die or Until I find enough bravery too.

I see your point about a show being a success, I really do. However, as I've stated before, this show is not a frame by frame remake of the original, from everything I've heard and read. I haven't watched the original, but several people on After Darkness noted key differences in the characters and plot from the very start, so it's obvious that this show is BASED ON the UK version, and not a total remake.

It really is a total remake, it's not just based on the show. No, really.

I don't have a problem with remakes, the US version of Queer As Folk was way better than UK's, but it was only based on it so a lot was different.
But if you do a remake that's exactly the same as the original, like the US remake of the movie Funny Games, where every scene was the same, what is the point of doing something like that? I don't get it...
