Seemed pretty busy when I was there. To be fair, I did try to avoid people (as much as possible) in my photos.

Friday - Day 4 in NYC...

Had pretty much seen most of what I wanted to see. So figured this would be a day to kind of just explore.
Decided to start up near Midtown and then wander my way south to where I was staying...

Had been wanting to try some New York cheesecake while in NYC. Figured I'd find something for lunch nearby...

Seen this and just had to nab lunch there!

Had bangers & mash for the first time ever, but definitely not the last! Yummy!
Portion was krazy big. 4 sausage links with bunch of onions with brown gravy on top of mashed potatoes
Ate like a third of the sausages & most the potatoes and that was it. Think I offended the waiter. 😳
Wasn't going to be able to take any of it with me. Plus needed room for dessert...

Literally across the street!

Nearby was an M&Ms store. Just had to go in...

Made my own overpriced bag of M&Ms. Was able to pick my own colors 🙂

Im lovin' all the food posts! Apples, pizzas, gelato, cheesecake..best way to holiday 😀. Surprised you have never had bangers and mash before! Its a staple in most houses here.

Friday - Day 4 in NYC - part deux...

Continuing my meandering in the big city...

Here's where the story just starts to get interesting... Note to visitors to Times Square: if you see Disney or Marvel mascots, avoid them like the plague!
Also note to anyone anywhere: if you see a tall lanky ginger, do NOT try to grab them from behind. Might not end well for you! 😉
Pretty sure I assaulted a mascot. 😳 To be fair it was a scammy mascot. Trying to get people to pay for 'ussies'. 😒
When I was walking away from the fallen scammy mascot, I seen 2 of NYPD's 'finest'. 😉
I was both relieved & disgusted. Relieved not to be taken away for knocking Mickey on his booty.
Disgusted for them just standing around watching people getting scammed! 😕 Anyway I wandered on...

never knew this even existed in real life!

literally walked thru an indie movie set! 😎

Was getting to be afternoon & been walking for a while. So googled nearby parks I could hang out in for a bit.
Union Square was close-ish to me & to my final destination. Seen that there was a Barnes & Noble right next to it as well.
So I ventured that direction. This is where the vacation turns into an adventure...

I got there around 4pm and that's about when everything pretty much hit the fan!
I seen some kind of weird box truck with clear plastic/glass back take off & then literally hundreds of people ran after it!
I decided to go into the nearby Barnes & Noble and let things (hopefully) cool down.
Like maybe 45 minuted later I left and made my way up thru the other side of the square. I hear a loud BANG!
Thankfully was bout out of there by then. Went up few blocks and tried to make way closer to my destination, but cops had that blockaded.
Had to go quite a bit up a few blocks before could circle my way back to way was going.

Saturday - Day 5 - Homecoming...

Was running late. My airline app wouldn't load my boarding pass. So had to see lady at counter.
Just what I needed in that moment! 😒 Literally had 6 minutes to catch flight! Thank gawd for long legs! Ran to my gate! Made it with 2 minutes to spare.
My connecting flight in Charlotte was of course 5 hours later. 😏 So had some time to kill. Ate at Mexican restaurant in airport.
Got back home around 8pm. My GF picked me up. Went home and relaxed. Hope you all enjoyed the thread. 🙂
