What do you guys think? I really, really like it. At this stage, for me, I have an almost impossible time picturing anyone as Batman or Bruce Wayne beyond Christian Bale, so no matter who was selected to take up the cowl, they were going to already be behind the eight-ball in my eyes (seriously, I LOVE Bale as Batman). However, I knew retaining Bale's services was a huge longshot, so I'm content with Ben Affleck. I loved him in The Town and on the whole he's one of my all time favorites, so I'm sure he'll do a good job. I was very skeptical (to say the least) regarding the casting of Heath Ledger as The Joker, and he redefined the role, he was so good. So for an actor of Affleck's caliber, I'm more than willing to give him a chance.

What do you guys think?

I like it. There's something very likable about Ben.

None of his movies rank among my favorites, but he's a really solid actor.

And it was worth it seeing Twitter explode with Matt Damon for Robin, lol!

I just looked at his IMDB page, he was in the Buffy movie playing basketball player #10

Also the who would you rather see as batman thread on there is amazing, suggestions like Tom Welling and Channing Tatum

I like Channing Tatum, but I don't think he would work as Batman. He's good at what he does, but I don't think he's as good an actor as Ben Affleck, and Batman/Bruce Wayne requires a certain degree of depth. I think Affleck can make that work.

As for Tom Welling, his Clark Kent will always have a place for me, always, but I can't see him at all as Batman.

Oh the second page of that IMDB is even better! Alexander Sarsgaard, lmao! he's fantastic on True Blood, but Batman he aint!

People amuse me.

Zack Snyder is still directing isn't he?

Yeah I like all those actors in their stuff (I think I'm one of the few that Like Tatum in GI Joe) but they couldn't be batman.

There's a quiet, wiseness to Batman that I think Affleck will do really well.

Nananananananananana BATMAN!

I love Affleck, he's one of my favourite actors. If he's in it; I'll watch it. But I don't know about this part for him. First off, coming off Bale's, and more importantly Nolan's, Batman into Snyder's is not the best decision in the world. Given what MoS was, I have no plans to take this film seriously. Plus, I just cannot shake the idea that if Affleck was to play any hero, it should be Superman. Maybe Hollywoodland is getting in my head a bit here, but I can't not see as Superman.

I'll definitely watch it but I was rooting for Jeffery Dean Morgan to get the part.

I really liked the idea of JDM, when they mentioned an older batman.

Does Affleck count as an older Batman?

I can't imagine there's much difference in age between him and Bale.

I'd say the "older Batman" line was meant in comparison to Caville's Superman.

meh, I don't think I like this casting very much. I love Snyder though, so maybe I'll see this. Either way, Affleck is not the kind of Batman I imagine, but maybe that's just because I'll have a hard time seeing a batman that isn't Christian Bale.

And like Kean said, I'd almost picture Affleck as Superman, in fact, I'd go as far as saying Henry Cavill would make a better batman than a superman. Maybe they could switch roles or something😛

My initial thought was that it seems like a dangerous choice.
Usually Affleck doesn't have to do much wrong to get some enormous bashing from the press imho.

So my guess would be that if they don't manage to get this right it will backlash much more than it might have done some other actor.

I'm not an Affleck fan. I would think that given the plot is "the one man that can take down Superman" kinda deal... to me he doesn't exactly have the presence to pull it off. Maybe Bale's Batman kinda makes me think he needs to be a little larger than life, but to me... Affleck is not someone that has that ability.

I'm very much hoping to be proven wrong!

I can't stand Affleck so I'm just pretending this isn't happening. And I absolutely can't believe that someone had the idea to replace Christian Bale with someone as mediocre as Ben Affleck... sorry Affleck fans, I just... I have a feeling this is a Batman movie I will skip.

I'm probably one of the only six people in the country who actually liked "Daredevil," and, since I've always seen a certain similarity between Batman and Daredevil, I think he'll do just fine.
