I've only seen the Gods of Egypt trailer and that was already enough. It just looks ridiculous. I don't know why Gerard Butler keeps making these career choices. He's way cooler as non-demigod.

It's actually Ben-Hur remade with more CGI, and 11 less Oscars.
 
I like the special effects & costumes in Gods of Egypt myself .

Not just the plot- which is obviously Ben-Hur- but the whole look and feel of the thing seems very Gladiator to me, including a lot of shout-y dialogue and there being a guy with a while beard/awesome voice who gives the hero key advice about getting his revenge...
 
Morgan Freeman does look good in the preview.
 
I'll go to see it, but just be prepared for my, "DeMille and Heston did it much, much better, with nary a single computer graphic element" review.
 
Sometimes the storyline is better without computer graphic elements 😀
 
The "creative arts" should be called the "recycled arts". I would bet it has nothing on the original.
 
But it so easy to film. They just throw in a lot of special effects & hope for the best.
