Best BTVS Season

I would have to say S5 was the best all around season, because so much happened in it. But I do love all of the seasons.
 
Oh that makes me sooo mad when they do that, Spike Lover! That is one thing I dislike about monster of the week eps!

JenniLou, I actually liked Go Fish. But I suppose it is pretty bad timing. LOL
 
Yeah, the timing of Go Fish was awful, Jenni! And to make it worse - i didnt particularly ::heart:: the episode either! Lol.

Agree with you about the timing of Go Fish - terrible. 🙂 I mean, I didn't hate the episode, but they could have put a slightly better one before such a great finale. 🙂
But maybe seeing that episode first further improved the viewing of Becoming. As seeing something of usual standard before something of brilliant standard, would make the brilliant standard episode - Becoming, seem even better. 😕 Make sense? Well, hope so. 😉
 
Lol, you made sense 🙂 But im not sure i agree.
I agree that it definetly was an average (though average for buffy still = great! lol) episode and that becoming was absolutely amazing. However, i dont know if you think it was therefore good planning to do this, but if you do, i dont agree. I still think that putting in Go Fish was an awful decision as far as timing goes. Its unfair to have a thrilling storyline then almost completely forget about it for an episode! Lol.

It depends cause:

S1 had the 'typical 16 year old feel to it'
S2 was brilliant. The suspense at the end of each episode.
S3 was when Buffy grew up.
S4 was Buffy's first year of the big world.

I would say S2+S3 because they kinda followed on better with each other. The whole Angel/Buffy thing came back and she grew up some more and had Faith with her.
 
DEFINETELY 2! from seasons 4-6 the only good eps are:
PANGS
THE YOKO FACTOR
the episode where riley leaves buffy
the eps with joice's funeral
 
Out of seasons 1-4 I definitely like 3 the best! It had FAITH, the mayor, senior year, the prom, graduation, Wesley lol, more of the watchers' council... I loved that season's story arc the best also. As for monster-of-the-week episodes, they're okay sometimes IF they're really good (i.e. "Hush," "Restless," "Once More, With Feeling" etc.) but I generally like the big story arcs that last a whole season better. Being a Charmed fan, I've had about all the demon/monster a week that I can handle!! I love the show, but I seriously don't think Charmed has ever had a story line last more than three episodes! When I started watching Buffy it was such a relief to see REAL character and plot development for a change.

Agree about S3 best, agree about your opinions about monster-of-the-week eppys! And, being a charmed fan like yourself, agree about their erm - LACK of story acrs! Lol - i think the cole being a source thing might have lasted even 5 eppys! Lol! 😉
I was a charmed fan before buffy so i agree about the relief and love too! Lol.
However, i think the OMWF was a story arc-ish eppy! It probably made the most revelations ever in one eppy! Lol.

yesterday i just finished watching the fourth season again, and in my opinion the second half of the season was actually quite good. the first half had a couple of good episodes, but the majority weren't so great, but the second half was awesome. it was about the time that adam appeared that the season really picked up, he is just an awesome character. i also hadn't seen 'restless' for a couple of years now, i had forgot how brilliant that episode is.
i am just saying this because alot of people regard this season as the worst, when really it is not that bad.
 
I agree. S4 is not the owrst in my opinion--it has some of my favorite eps of all time. I feel that the series took a bold new direction...S4 rocks in my book--I was just watching a couple eps earlier...

Im was surprised at how much i enjoyed S4!!! Adam was fab and . . . i cant believe im writing this, but i actually loved riley! *gasps* lol

really, riley wasn't that bad, he just wasn't too interesting, especially in the fifth season when he didn't have anything to do. i don't miss him, but at least he tried.
his best scenes were in 'restless' though. hilarity ;D
 
I liked Season 3 the best, I think. A lot of growing-up issues for the Scoobies, plus Faith, the Mayor & Mr. Trick, Graduation Day, and the "distraction" episodes like "Band Candy" and "Earshot".

After re-watching S4, i realised i actually ::heart:: riley! Lol, after hating him! Hes sooooo sweet!

I nthink a lot of the Riley-hating comes from the fact that he arrived shortly after Abgel departed...not enough grieving time for the fans, if you ask me...😉
 
I just found Riley extremely boring and one dimensional. I also thought Angel was boring so I didn't need the grieving time 😀 S4 wasn't as bad as some people make it out to be. "Hush" was one of the best episodes ever.
 
season 4 actually has three of my favourite episodes.. 'restless', 'hush' and 'superstar'.
i really only choose 'superstar' because it was hilarious though. ;D

hehe...'Something Blue' is one of my faves because of the comic element....especially Giles: "That's alright, I have more scotch."

Buffy: Spike and I are getting married!
Xander: What? How? What?
Giles: Three excellent questions.

Oh, it's hilarious! Yea for Giles!
 
season 3 was my favourite.
It contained every possible emotion; dispair, greed, jealousy, revenge, heartbreak, joy and humour,
every ep in the season was a classic!

Xander lost his virginity, buffy was dealing with the fact that angel had his own show (lol) Oz and Willow's relationship was changing from a nice fluffy thing to a more serious one, until Xander and Willow started having feelings for each other, but still, that only made the bond between Oz and Willow stronger.

Cordy breaking up with Xander, then making the memorable wish.
The Mayor with his jovial evilness, which brung a lot of colour into the show. Mr Trick with his "cool kat" 'tude

But far and above the single most important ingredient of season, without any shadow of a doubt, was the introduction of Faith.

No other season has ever, or will ever get close to the sheer class of season three.
