from Angel Season 2 Untouched
Darla: "There is nothing so lovely as dreams. Everything is in them, everything hidden. Open those chambers and you can truly understand someone - and control them."
Lilah: "And what's hidden in Angel's secret chambers?"
Darla: "Horrors."

I think Julie Benz is especially a great actress as Darla; the way she delivers her lines is so delicious. Same is also always true for Stephanie Romanov as Lilah.

More to come from me!

What else do you especially love? From any episode or issue in the buffyverse!

I'm partial to the entire Wesley/'Lilah' dialogue of Salvage.

LILAH
Why so glum? It is kinda what you wanted, isn't it? I mean, deep down. Me out of the picture—utterly, finally. You can't get outer than this. It makes your life simpler, doesn't it? Cleaner?

WESLEY
I didn't want this.

LILAH
Come on, what are you worried about, Wesley? (sits up, on the far edge of the table, facing away from him) You hated yourself for being with me. Or maybe you just hated yourself for loving being with me. (laughs) Hey, semantics. (stands, walks to Wesley) In any case, we both knew, sooner or later, it would come to a messy end. For one of us, anyway. (pulls him to face her; she touches his face and arms) So ease up on that furrowed brow. You're free now. No longer encumbered with the secret shame of our relationship.

WESLEY
It wasn't a relationship.

LILAH
There's a signed dollar bill in your wallet I think proves different. You knew how I felt.

WESLEY
You don't feel.

LILAH
The only true thing I ever—

WESLEY
(faces away from Lilah to look back at the table) You didn't love me. (stares at her corpse that's still on the table) You couldn't.

LILAH
(standing beside him) We'll never know now, will we?

Cut to

LILAH
I know what it is. The reason you're having such a hard time with this. Why you're taking so long to—you know... (makes a creaking noise as she gestures across her throat with her hand) The awful truth: you couldn't save me. And this is the exclamation point.

WESLEY
Saved you from the Beast, for all the good it did.

LILAH
(smiles) Wesley, you know that's not what I'm talking about. You couldn't save me from me.

WESLEY
Is that what you thought?

LILAH
Me? (laughs) Lover, I'm not even here. I'm just a figment in your devilishly handsome head. So, clearly, it's what you thought. For all your supposed darkness, edge of the razor mystique, (whispers in his ear) there was always a small part of you that thought you could pull me back from the brink of my evil, evil ways. Help me find redemption.

WESLEY
Redemption?

LILAH
(stands behind him with her hands on his shoulders) Angel's influence, I suppose. The whole not giving up on someone, no matter how far he—or she—has fallen. Oh, well. Too late for me. (Wes stands) Let's just get it over with. That body's not gonna dismember itself, you know.

WESLEY
(lifts the battle-axe) I'm sorry, Lilah.

LILAH
Oh, Wes, we don't have that word in our vocabulary. Not people like you and—

Wesley swings the axe. When he pulls it back, it's got blood on its edge. He cries.

YES! that scene in Salvage is one of the reasons it's one of my top 10 Angel episodes! On top of it bringing Faith back into the picture! When Wesley says "you didn't love me!" and Lilah's suddenly not beside him anymore- only her dead body... is very powerful.

From Redefinition

Wesley: "Let's keep a level head, shall we? - Angel's not been himself lately. Perhaps he'll change his mind."
Gunn: "He locked twenty lawyers into a room with a couple of psychotic vampires. I'd say his mind is changed enough."
Cordelia: "Darla. It's all about Darla. One thing you can say about Angel at least he's consistent. It's always some little blonde driving him over the edge.

Okay I just really love that Cordy line

And from Harms Way

TAMIKA
You don't remember? Think steno pool.
(Harmony shrugs)
I sat next to you.

HARMONY
Sambuca.

TAMIKA
Tamika!

HARMONY
Right!

TAMIKA
Well, you were only there for, what was it? 5 weeks?

HARMONY
More like 4 1/2.

TAMIKA
I have been there for 5 years! I type 80 words a minute. I have an exceptionally pleasant phone voice. But you're the one who sits at the best desk in the building. You're the one in the in-crowd.

HARMONY
You think I'm in the in-crowd?

TAMIKA
Oh, I see you in all the important meetings. You're on the fast track. Well, that's all about to change. I have witnesses who saw you attack Danny, and when Mr. Angel hears that I saved him, you job will be mine by the end of the day.

HARMONY
You're forgetting one thing. Kinda have the advantage.

TAMIKA
(vamps out)
Kinda not.

HARMONY
Oh. I should've smelled you!

TAMIKA
You would've if you wore less of that tacky perfume!

HARMONY
Chanel's not tacky!

TAMIKA
Saw you at that bar and I said to myself, "this is it, Tamika. This is your chance." So I slipped a roofie in your drink while you were busy slutting it up. Then I followed you back to your place with that guy and waited till you passed out, and then broke in, had myself a little snack.

HARMONY
That is just... ugh! I am so gonna kick your ass!

TAMIKA
Dust can't kick!

HARMONY
You're gonna tell Angel the truth!

TAMIKA
You want to know the first thing I'm gonna do when I get your desk? Smash all of those stupid, ugly-ass unicorns!

Okay, it isn't the best example of great dialogue in the Buffyverse but it makes me laugh and comedy is an art!

A really small one, from Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight:

Giles: Uh, I'm, uh, it's a bit of a puzzle, really. Um, I've never actually heard of anyone attacked by a lone baseball bat before.
Xander: Maybe it's a vampire bat.

The way Nick delivers that line cracks me up every time. I'm just a sucker for puns.

I'm a little bit in love with the dialogue between Buffy and Spike in After Life. Very emotional and powerful, and yet hauntingly hollow at the same time. Here's a few of my favorites.

Buffy: "How long was I gone?"

Spike: "Hundred and forty-seven days yesterday. Uh... hundred and forty-eight today. Except today doesn't count, does it? How long was it for you... where you were?"

Buffy: "Longer."

***

Spike: "Uh, I do remember what I said. The promise... to protect her. If I'd have done that... even if I didn't make it... you wouldn't have had to jump. But I want you to know I did save you. Not when it counted, of course, but, after that. Every night after that. I'd see it all again... I do something different. Faster or more clever, you know? Dozens of times, lots of different ways... Every night I save you."

***

Spike: "Well, I haven't been to a hell dimension just of late, but I do know a thing or two about torment."

Buffy: "I was happy. Wherever I was... I was happy... at peace. I knew that everyone I cared about was all right. I knew it. Time... didn't mean anything. Nothing had form. But I was still me, you know? And I was warm. And I was loved. And I was finished. Complete. I don't understand theology or dimensions, any of it really... but I think I was in heaven. And now I'm not. I was torn out of there. Pulled out, by my friends. Everything here is hard and bright and violent. Everything I feel, everything I touch. This is Hell. Just getting through the next moment, and the one after that. Knowing what I've lost.

They can never know. Never."

Living Dead Boy
So much karma!
Glory: "How do they do it?"
Dawn: "Do what?"
Glory: "People! How do they function here like this in the world with all this bile running through them? Every day it's whoo-oo. You have no control. They're not even animals, they're just these meatbaggy slaves to, to hormones and pheromones and their, and their feelings. Hate 'em! I mean really. Is this what the poets go on about, this? Call me crazy, but as hard-core drugs go, human emotion is just useless! People are puppets! Everyone getting jerked around by what they're feelin'. Am I wrong? Really, I want to know. Gonna bleed you either way."
Dawn: "Depends on the person."
Glory: "So you're saying some people like this."
Dawn: "Some."
Glory: "Funny. 'Cause I look around at this world you're so eager to be a part of... and all I see is six billion lunatics looking for the fastest ride out. Who's not crazy? Look around. Everyone's drinking, smoking, shooting up... shooting each other, or just plain screwing their brains out 'cause they don't want 'em anymore.I'm crazy? Honey, I'm the original one-eyed chicklet in the kingdom of the blind. 'Cause at least I admit the world makes me nuts. Name one person who can take it here. That's all I'm asking. Name one."
Dawn: "Buffy."

Living Dead Boy
My favorite speech.
Drusilla: Now will you dance?
Spike: I'll dance with you, pet.......on the slayer's grave!

I just love the delivery of Spike's line.
