I see a lot of lists that describe directors that have been very difficult to work with. You got the James Camerons (.whom I'm a huge fan of despite his reputation) and Stanley Kubricks all over these list. But what about the directors thatve been recalled by people being very nice to work with?

I'm gonna start with one obvious example and that is Joss Whedon. I've heard in a lot of cast members of his shows is that he is able to take feedback well, and he likes bouncing off ideas with the actors if a line doesn't feel right to them.

You guys have other examples?

One I've notice after watching lots of behind the scene stuff is Clint Eastwood.
Everyone seems to love working with Eastwood. Even the studios since he apparently always delivers his movies on time and within budget.

Can't remember who it was now but one actor said in an interview that Matt Damon, who did his second movie with Eastwood, told him to enjoy the moment because before you know it the movie will be finished and you would be on another project and things will probably not be so easy anymore when it wasn't Eastwood in charge.

People say nice stuff all the time about the directors obviously but I always get the feeling that it is beyond the usual politeness when it comes to mr. Eastwood.

James Gunn. I only ever hear great things about him and how brilliant he is from people he works with. He's professional but also great with fans and really seems to enjoy live Facebook chats. I was just watching him in one and he's very open and honest about film-making and behind the scenes stuff. I have a lot of respect for the guy as a director, but he also seems so super nice.
