I saw it in the UK on Legend not long back. That wasn't the first time they had shown it either.
Of course, that is only really of use if you are in the UK!

But it wouldn’t become hyper-important or influential in American politics until Kennedy. A large reason of why he was elected was his television presence, actually.
Agree with everyone who's said late 90s/early 2000s. The majority of my favourite shows started in the era and I think it was the most fun era of television, especially if you loved supernatural or sci-fi-themed shows.
I know that the late 2000s - early 2010s are generally considered the "Golden Age" of television, and while I do love some of the more cerebral and more cinematic television shows that came out of that era, I feel like they lost the fun and silliness of the previous era and led us into the current state of television.

I add to my list : X-Files and Prison Break, Desperate Housewives, Malcolm… Of course there are others show I can’t think about right now.
The only thing I really dislike about today’s television is the several year wait between seasons.
Whereas seasons used to be wait a few months and it’s back, now it’s “wait several years and it’ll be back with a whopping…4 episodes”
No cos I'm Aussie and dont care. But that does lead down the politics in media path, like @Ethan Reigns mentioned, the rot that continues on social media now. Not to say tv hasnt always been political, it has, it just probably more glaring for those who've been around longer to see the ebb and flow of changes.
There is less middle ground in tv now. Its either reality or its a complicated book series with college level knowledge required.
The TV of earlier times appealed to a mass audience rather than the niche paid audience for the shows that @Plasma mentioned above, or the lowest common denominator of reality.
The free to air channels here have been running ads on the importance of keeping tv free, which is probably a whole different thread, but links into it here. When we had fewer choices, the shows were more general and suited to bigger audiences, now they are targeting extremely specific groups. Shows like Buffy that span generations are few and far between.

No it was not FDR but you were close. It was Herbert Hoover at the Bell labs display in 1927. Of course it was a closed circuit type of situation.

Definitely the 2000's. Although TV changed so much over that decade it doesn’t feel like the same era by the end of it so I would say 2000 to 2005 to be more specific.
It is the rise of HBO and premium TV, the Jossverse is at its peak, there were new platforms releasing more and more quality shows (without the sheer quantity of new shows feeling overwhelming like it does now), there was a good mix of fun and serious shows without every show wanting to be a 60 minute prestige show, and people still tended to watch shows at the same time.
It is crazy to look at the shows that either started or were still on during that 5 year period
Sopranos - from S2, Oz - last few seasons, Six Feet Under, The Wire, Carnivale, Deadwood, The West Wing, Buffy - last half, Angel, Firefly, Veronica Mars, Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls, Freeks and Geeks, Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Da Ali G Show, Entourage, Extras, The Thick of It, Office UK, Phoenix Nights, Peep Show, Spaced, Brass Eye, Family Guy, Its always Sunny, Band of Brothers, 24, State of Play, The Shield, Lost, House, Desperate Housewives, Rescue Me, Prison Break etc
And did Doctor Who reboot start in 2005?
