BUFFY:
1. Buffy vs. Faith, Graduation Day Part 1 (Buffy's set to kill, so naturally all bets are off)
2. Buffy vs. Glory, The Gift (with a help from Xander!)
3. Buffy vs. Angelus, Becoming Part 2 (SAD ending)
4. Buffy vs. The Minions of Hell, Anne (best season opener ever)
5. The Final Fight, Chosen (it's the last one, after all, everyone gets a moment to shine)
Runner-up: Buffy vs. Anya, Selfless

ANGEL:
1. Angel vs. Faith, Five By Five (even though the show's about Angel you fear for his life!)
2. Angel vs. Spike, Destiny (you made me a monster!)
3. Faith vs. Angelus, Release (knowing that Faith was fighting Angelus will high as a kite makes it even more awesome)
4. Angel and Connor vs. Hamilton, Not Fade Away (the long overdue father-son teamup)
5. The Fang Gang vs. The Beast, Apocalypse Nowish (Wesley and his guns...)
Runner-up: Angel vs. Lindsey, You're Welcome

Agree with all of those.
Some of the ones that I've seen recently that impressed me:


The Big Battle in The Wish where everybody dies.
Buffy and Angel vs. the Mayor's minions in 'Choices'
Buffy vs. Kathy in Living Conditions
Buffy vs, Spike in Harsh Light Of Day
Buffy vs. Faith in 'This Year's Girl
Buffy vs. Walsh's pet demons from The I In Team is pretty good.


Certainly the most shocking:

Angel and the Fang Gang vs. The Beast in Apocalypse Nowish
Faith vs. The Beast/Angelus. Even though she lost she made a hell of a decent showing.
Caleb vs. Everybody in Dirty Girls

Not that the good guys lost, but that the good guys lost so Badly.
 
From Buffy in order:

1. The fight against zombies in Dead Man's Party
2. The fight against the monster in the library in "The Zeppo".
3. The fight at Sunnydale High against the vampiresw and the Mayor in "Graduation Day Part II".
4. Buffy and Faith fight in "Revelations" where Gwendolyn Post poses as a watcher.
5. Buffy and others fight the monster in the library in "The Zeppo".
6. The fight with Kathy's real alter ego in "Living Conditions".
7. Buffy fights Spike in the daylight in "Harsh Light of Day" after Spike finds the Gem of Amarra.
8. Buffy's fight against Chumash warriors in "Pangs".
9. The fight against the Gentlemen in "Hush".
10. Faith returns for a rematch with Buffy in "This Year's Girl Part I".
11. The scoobies fight by proxy along with Buffy in "Primeval".
12. Buffy fights a snake monster in "Shadow" to keep the monster from revealing the identity of the Key to Glory.
13. Buffy's fight with the Knight of Byzantium in Checkpoint.
14. Buffy takes on all the Knights of Byzantium in "Spiral".
15. Buffy fights Glory in "The Gift".
16. Invisible Buffy takes on the Trio in "Gone".
17. Buffy fights off Spike in "Seeing Red".
18. Buffy fights Dark Willow in "Teo to Go".
19. Buffy and Dawn fight subterranean monsters in "Grave".
20. Buffy fights Anya in "Selfless".
21. Buffy kills a Turok-Han in "Showtime".
22. Buffy leads the potentials against Caleb in "Dirty Girls".
23. Buffy kills Caleb then leads the potentials into battle against all the Turok-Han in "Chosen".

There are a number of other fights that advance the plot such as the fight where a vampire injures her in "Fool for Love" and against Luke in "The Harvest" but these are not what I would call best fight scenes.
 
I love any fights between Buffy and Angel or Buffy and Faith because there so evenly matched plus there's an emotional edge s well.

I also love the fight scene in Anne, I think it's incredible.

That one gets me every time, because although it's the Wishverse and not technically real, the ferocity of people killing their friends really hits home.

Xander & Willow killing Cordelia
Xander killing Angel
Buffy killing Xander
Oz killing Willow
The Master killing Buffy

Buffy v Angelus also hits me right in the feels, but the choreography is outstanding.

Some others I like:
Angel vs Riley in The Yoko Factor
Robin vs Spike in Lies My Parents Told Me
Buffy vs The Gentleman in Hush
 
I always liked Dark Willow vs. Super!Giles. 😀

I can't say I was blown away by any of the fight scenes but some of the best involved weapons. Angel & Spike vs. Illyria was fun enough to stand out.

Also Buffy vs. Faith, they were always very close.

Great choice with the Wish one! I think I prefer fight scenes like that and the one between Angel and Faith in Five by Five where there is more of dramtic weight behind it, and there is storytelling being told within the physical actions. Those scenes are just so much more distinct and poetic also. Because of the nature of both shows I guess sometimes we get overloaded with fight scenes, and while I can see how they might be a nesscary evil, to me they are among the least appealing things.

I completely agree. Fight scene have to mean something in the context of the story. The best ones have real consequences for the characters involved.
And also look really cool. 🙂
 
In my opinion, the club fight scene in 'Five By Five' is the best fight scene in the verse.

Dollhouse has better fight scenes than the Buffyverse 😳

That was a great fight. And even better because Buffy used the Scythe on Caleb to split him in two.
