I keep seeing the new Sky+ HD TV commercial starring Sir Anthony Hopkins where he quotes from Blade Runner:

(Roy Batty's last words (played by Rutger Hauer).
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... Attack ships on fire off the shores of Orion. I've seen C-beams glitter in the dark at the Tannhauser Gates. All these memories will be lost in time, like tears in the rain..."

Great lines. Do you have a favourite or indeed favourites.
I'm off to think about mine.

If you're a nerd, or a geek, or whatever the correct term is, Star Wars(the proper star wars) has a massive amount of awesome quotes. My favourite line from those movies most definitely has to be, " No, I am your father".

I don't watch that many movies, and my memory sucks, for me to remember lines I have to see a movie a few times.

Theres one line in Pitch Black(I believe that's what the movie is called), where Riddick is fighting with one of the monsters and he manages to break its neck or something, and he growls in that deep over the top masculine voice of his, "[he] didn't know who he was fvcking with". Very cool delivery.

I used to love that line Bruce willis used in Die hard, "Yippie ky aye, motherfvcker".

I can't think of any intelligent lines, I must watch a lot of trash.

oh, Monty Pyhton has a plethora of majestic quotes:
One of my favourites is the fight with the black knight. After the knight loses both arms and legs, arthur 'rides' away, and the balck knight shouts " running away eh, you yellow bastards, come back here and take whats coming to you, I'll bite your legs off!"

Die Hard karma...got love Willis!
One of Dante's from the absolute classic movie, Clerks.

I'm stuck in this pit, working for less than slave wages, working on my day off, the steel shutters are closed, I deal with every backward-assed f**k on the planet, I smell like shoe polish, my ex-girlfriend is catatonic after f*****g a dead guy, and my present girlfriend has sucked thirty six d**ks.

in a row?
My dreams are a cruel joke. They taunt me. Even in my dreams I'm an idiot... who knows he's about to wake up to reality. If I could only avoid sleep. But I can't. I try to tell myself what to dream. I try to dream that I am flying. Something free. It never works!

Anyone know this from a very underated film?

I swear to god, I was watching Vanilla Sky about 3 hours ago.

In fact, I went to the cinema to watch that when it was released, with my gf, my two sisters and their husbands. And at the time I had a bit of a problem... which I thought I'd disguise with a pair of shades.. I pretty much missed the whole movie, in fact I only wanted to go because I heard there were Radiohead songs in it.

The movie is "The Alamo," and the Duke plays Davy Crockett. Dying at the end is pretty much required.

I don't get it, what was your problem? Were you high on ecstasy?
This has always been one of my favorites:

A bit outdated nowadays, but then, I'm pretty outdated, too.

does JWs character die at the end of the movie?
I love most of the dialogue from 'SLC Punk', it's one of my favourite films.

Stevo: "You see, life is like that. We change, that's all. You see, the guy I am now is not the guy I was then. If the guy I was then met the guy I am now he'd beat the shit out of me. Those are the facts."

Mark (the crazy foreign guy): "That's what's wrong with you Americans, you're always looking for pain."
Mike: "Yeah well... it pains me to hear you say that, Mark, it really does."

Stevo: "You're a Nazi!"
Stevo's Dad: "Nazi, I'm Jewish, Steven, how can I be a Nazi?"
Stevo: "That's the worst. Dad, look at this. What kinda, what kinda car is this?"
Stevo's Dad: "That would be a Porshe."
Stevo: "A Porshe, that you bought at a Volkswagen dealership. Volkswagen, right? For the people who designed it? Who made that possible, Let me give you a hint, Adolf Hitler."
Stevo's Dad: (freaking out) "IT'S JUST A CAR!"

And

Dear Mr. Vernon,
we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole saturday in detention for whatever it is we did wrong, but we think you're crazy for making us write an essay telling you who we think we are.
You see us as you want to see us, in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out, is that each one of us is a brain,
and an athlete,
and a basketcase,
a princess,
and a criminal.

Does that answer your question?

Sincerely yours,

The Breakfast Club

One of the many from Deadwood

Al Swearengen:
Pain or damage don't end the world, or despair, or fu kin' beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man -- and give some back.

Harsh. But true.
Sean Connery and Kevin Costner from The Untouchables, on what it'll take to get Al Capone...

Kitty: Well, can you beat that. Midge and I are much better friends than you and
Bob.
Red: Well, men's friendships-
Kitty: All of my life I have wanted to be a bridesmaid. None of my friends have
ever asked me to be a bridesmaid.
Red: Well, that's 'cause you're too pretty.
Kitty: Oh, can it. That's not gonna work. I am gonna be a bridesmaid.
Red: Hey. Wanna be the best man?

Here's a little bit of movie trivia for you. At the time that the first "Dirty Harry" movie was written, the Smith & Wesson Model 29 .44 Magnum had only been in production a short time, and the demand for thyem was so great that the producers weren't able to get one for Eastwood to use in the movie. The "world's most powerful handgun" that you see him using is actually a .45 target pistol (Model 25-2) that belonged to one of the stunt men, and it was only used for a few scenes, when the postol had to actually be fired or seen in a closeup. Through the rest of the movie, Clint Eastwood was actually carrying a rubber mock-up, not even a real gun.

*gg* thats awesome i love movie trivia :)
I've never seen this movie (fortunately or unfortunately, not sure...) but this little monologue from the movie Network is in one of my favourite songs at the moment...and I think it's just pretty damn powerful. I get goosebumps from it.

Network is a great film. I wish people really would up off their arses and tell the bastards in power where to go!
One of my fave movies ever.

Guess who's coming to dinner.

Spencer Tracy stealing the show. 🙂

Carl Spackler: So I jump ship in Hong Kong and I make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas.
Angie D'Annunzio: A looper?
Carl Spackler: A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-lagunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.
