Don't know if this has been done but what's everyone's favourite flashback in Buffy or Angel?
 
The moment when we switch from the Bronze circa 2001 to London, 1880 and see William the Bloody Awful Poet for the first time. I was watching FFL with a friend of mine a couple of weeks ago and she actually didn't get that it was Spike. It took her a whole minute, I think, to realize it and she was beyond herself. I think her reaction says it all. SUCH a great transition, from ''What can I tell you baby, I've always been bad,'' to the actual antithesis of bad. So many layers are added to Spike's personality in that single moment, I get this big, stupid grin on my face every time I see it.

It was even sadder when I saw it the second time knowing that Anya would die in the end of the season :(
I'd have to say the flashback to Anya singing Mrs. Even though you could kind of tell Joss wrote it in a hurry, Emma did a such a great job singing it that you didn't even notice the occasionally-sloppy songwriting. And seeing her come out in her wedding dress, then flashing to her with a sword through her chest gets me every time.

Also, the flashback to Spike and Dru in 1940s Italy in The Girl In Question. That was hilarious!

I love all of the flashbacks to Spike, Dru, Angel, and Darla's pasts. The Anya/ Aud flashback was funny too.
 
Another great flashback episode is the Prodigal, the one where it shows Angels first night as a vampire
and he goes to kill his family.
On his first night, Vampire Angel knocks his door, his sister answers, and says 'you're dead. it must be an angel'.
Could this be where he really got his name from?
the idea that he was called Angel because he had an angelic face is just lame

That one's amazing! Makes me wish there had been more Spike-and-Dru flashbacks. They'd been together for a hundred years, I bet there was a lot of good stuff there.
 
Not as epic as the vampire flashbacks but a favourite of mine is Andrew and Jonathon's, when they are on the run in mexico.

i have a couple of faves...

love the flashback to spike fighting nikki in new york in the ep 'fool for love' great scene and love the way they overlap the fight with nikki into the present day fight with buffy.

also love the flashback to when angel first gets turned into a vamp by darla in the alleyway...great scene!

I love ALL the flashbacks - I enjoy seeing the Fang-Gang as their old selves, and Drusilla is ALWAYS fun to watch. But my two favorites are when Drusilla is a human, going to confession, & Angel is in the booth (heh! "booth!") feeding on the priest, and tells her that she's evil, etc.

The other is Fool for Love - I really love seeing Spike, killing the other two slayers (esp. 1977) and the way they filmed him talking to Buffy while killing Nikki Wood. Totally cool. 😀
 
my favorite is from "Darla" when William the Bloody first shows up and runs into Dru, Angelus, and Darla. I love the comment that they make to Dru about it, I can't remember what it is right now, but I remember it being funny.
 
They're talking about Dru wanting to turn someone, and when William bumps into them Angelus says something like: ''Or, you could go with the first blubbering idiot that comes along.'' Heh, yeah, good one.
 
i liked the flash back when spike has just killed Xin Rong (the chinese slayer) and they're all walking in a line and spike jumps off a barrel or something. brilliant shot.
 
^ Oh, yeah the power shot from Fool for Love/Darla is a favourite of mine too. I love all the fanged four flashbacks (so much so i've made youtube video's of them all). Angelus gradually sending Dru crazy is pretty powerful stuff, Dru seeing something in the distraught William is special too. The music when Angelus rises for the first time is amazing too.


I also love Anya's flashbacks - particularly her singing the 'Mrs' song.
 
Oooh that's tough, really tough.... *ponders*. I'd probably have to either say....

(1) Liam/Angel's being turned in "Becoming": Just because it's such a different side to Angel. Showed him in a much more innocent, juivenile part of his life.

(2) Angel Spying on Buffy/ Buffy's Calling in "Becoming": I'm a bangel fan, how much do I really need to explain? 😉

(3) Spike just prior to his turning in "That Episode in which I Can't Remember": He was so opposite prior to his turning.

or the flashback scene to Christmas time in "The Body". That was just so encompassing of the gang, really warm feel to it. Definitely one of my favourite scenes 🙂

Oh, how'd I forget the Christmas scene! I loved when Anya talked about Santa and Willow's "I had too much nog."
