Best Non-Buffyverse Vampire Show/Flick?

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust was really really good, so was the Hellsing series.
 
How could I forget The Lost Boys! It was the movie that started me on my interest all things Vampires and like. Such a great movie. Looking back now a bit cheesy with the stakes and such but thats part of its charm.
 
i've never seen ultraviolet but last time i was up in london i was chatting to a bloke who played a kid who got turned into a vampire in quit an unpleasant way in the 3rd or 4th ep.

nice bloke answered to the name of Rob.
 
Ok, I like either Interview With the Vampire or Shadow of a Vampire (the one with Willem Dafoe).

Also, I honestly have no idea what the hell "Kindred: The Embraced" is. Considering my name, i feel like i should be enlightened. Can someone help me out with this? Thanks.

Kindred: The Embraced was a tv show that was on cable (TNT maybe?) briefly during the mid 90s. It was about warring vampire clans, each clan with distinctive characteristics (kinda of like different races of vampires - one was the Nosferatu, who all had bald heads and fangs on their front two teeth like Max Schrect). It wasn't on very long, but it was (in my opinion) a hell of a lot of fun. C. Thomas Howell played a cop who was tracking the vampires, very much like Kate on Angel. It's probably not floating around your local Blockbuster, but it IS out on DVD (I think there's only like 12 episodes). If you want to check it out, you can rent it from Netflix.com (I *heart* Netflix), or I'm sure some mom & pop type video stores stock a copy.
 
I thought I'd already contributed to this thread but apparently not. Old age, you know😉

TV show has to be Ultraviolet.

Films - Lost Boys, Blade, any of the old Peter Cushing/Christopher Lee Hammer films (this is from a purely nostalgic point of view - I remember them fondly, but I suspect that they were a bit cr*p).
I do draw the line at Bram Stoker's Dracula because of Keanu Reeves' appalling attempt at an English accent. It ruined the film for me - slacker "Bill and Ted" dudes did not hang around with Van Helsing and co. 🙁 Coulda been really good if they'd cast someone else in his place.

BTW - is the Van Helsing movie out in the States yet?

Cheers, Dolphin. From what I've seen it looks like it'll be pretty good. I think I read in Dreamwatch that they're even thinking of a TV series based on it (not so sure if that'll be a good thing though)
 
Yup...Interview, B.S. Dracula (heehee), and Lost Boys were great...

There's also Nosferatu, Salems Lot, Fright Night, Innocent Blood, From Dusk Till Dawn, Once Bitten, the Forsaken, Love At First Bite...heeheehee!!! And then one of my personal favorites...the Little Vampire...How can you NOT get a kick out of those damn vampire cows!!! WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!I almost wet myself...eghem...good stuff...
 
You know, I should preface the statement I'm about to make with two admissions: One, I love almost all vampire movies, even the less stellar ones. I'm a conneseuir when it comes to zombie movies, but I'm a definite omnivore when it comes to vamp flicks. I watch 'em all. Two, I'm a sucker for the occasional really dumb comedy.

Which brings me to another vampire movie I really love:
Transylvania 6-5000! Mmmm...Geena Davis is one yummy vamp! Plus I get a huge kick out of Jeff Goldblum - he's the man!
 
i know it's not a vamp flick! but i like the vamp in the league.... when she first shows as a vamp😉 i know it doesn't count but i still had to metion it!

I loved "Fright Night". A classic. And "The Lost Boys" comes in at a close second for me.
I also liked the rather obscure, much-maligned "Nadja", which is the tale of Dracula's twin offspring in modern Manhattan, and stars Peter Fonda as a drugged-out Van Helsing descendent.

Fright Night rocked! What's not to love about Prince Humperdink as a vampire!

Speaking of obscure, George A. Romero's "Martin" is another fantistic obscure vampire movie. "Dawn of the Dead" will always be my favorite Romero flick (and my favorite horror movie, and one of my all-time favorite movies), but "Martin" is totally kickass.
