Best Season 5 Episode?

I love The Body and The Gift, but I had to go with TB. Mainly because is such a painful topic to portray on an episdode that way, the acting was outstanding, Anya's speech left me heartbroken, and even though death is on every episode of Buffy I don't think it was ever the main topic.

Buffy vs. Dracula, Intervention, Crush, Fool for Love, and The Gift. I remember sitting on the floor in my living room yelling at the TV during The Gift..."buffy don't jump, don't jump!" Crush...Spikes monologue is classic. Intervention....love the Buffybot! Buffy vs. Dracula makes me laugh because of Xander. Fool for Love is great because we get to see where Spike came from.

I can't take my pick, so many episodes stand out, I just can't pick one.
All the episode mentioned here are so good for above mentioned reasons.
the body is just... wow, I mean , it's so well done!
the gift is just another big tearjerker for me...Tara and Willow, I also loved that moment. And the shot of the gang with, its just so moving...

I love the funny eps like replacement end triangle
Fool for love... what can I say, I laughed my ass off first time I saw it, really!
And crush... who doesn't love Drusilla? (or Dorkus, as Harmony calls her)

in short, one of the best seasons...

I liked strange enough Forever. I just loved the way Angel was there for Buffy when she needed him and I liked the ending when Dawn realised hey I'm not the only one upset about this.

The Gift. No doubt about it. It was the end of an era...

This is the one episode that really stand out in season five. I have many favorites in the season (Checkpoint is fav), but it doesn't really stand out. The Gift really shines, I think because of all the emotion in the episode.

I think it's safe to say it's a toss-up between "The Gift" and "The Body" with the others coming in a distant last place tie...

But without having seen either one yet, I have to say "The Body" would win due to it being the first true "event" in the series without demonic means.
Also, it is something Buffy--with all her slayer stuff--could not defeat.

I loved a lot of the Season 5 episodes. I think that Season 5 was one of my favourite seasons. I went through a whole range of emotions everytime I watched them. I also loved Glory, I thought she was a great nemesis for Buffy.

Need I say more.

i loved the gift (do i have to explain) , the body ( work of ART), tough love (aww) , triangle (hilarious) , Buffy vs Dracula (come on FUNNY) spiral and the weight of the world were really good , real me ( good way to introduce dawnie) Family 🙁 and the replacement (snoopy dance)

i think that my favourite ones are THE BODY,THE GIFT and TRIANGLE because with these episodes you have all you need in a season:emotion,action and humor!

I voted Triangle, I loved the Anya-Xander-Window triangle, it was and is hilarious. I also liked the one in which Drusilla returns but couldn't remember the name, what was it?

i loved all the season 5 eps. but i especially loved "Tough Love" as it was when Glory attacked Tara, and then Willow went all dark for the first time.it was well good!!

I loved Season 5. It was my fave season. It had the great episodes. All the episodes where great in their own way, but I honestly gotta say that 'The Gift' was my favourite...episode of all time, not just Season 5. It was amazing, well written and all the actors where brilliant. You can't get a better episode than this. I always cry as well. It's...oh I always watch it when i want a good cry!

The BEST Buffy season 5 episode was The Body, no question. However, it is not my favorite season 5 episode. That would be between Intervention and The Gift. The Body was the best episode because it was absolutely perfect in conveying the harsh reality of death. I loved the use of the each act as one scene. That allowed the viewer to really stay in the episode, i.e. no escape from the overwhelming emotion. (This works better if you're watching the DVDs without the commercials.) The lack of music also adds to that effect. And, aside from Innocence, I don't think the writing or the acting had been better on any other episode. While it is not one of my favorite episodes, I do believe that it is one of the best. (in case you're wondering, I happen to think Innocence is the best Buffy episode.)

Definatley 'The Gift'. It is so exciting and moving, and beautifully acted and written. It's one of my favourite episodes of all time.

The Body

It's not my favorite, but it's definitely the BEST episode of the season (and possibly the series). Film and television very seldom make me cry, but this one sure did. My favorite episodes of this season on the other hand would be Real Me, Family, Blood Ties and The Gift (but I like nearly all the episodes of season 5, definitely my favorite season).

The Gift no doubt.. it was so sad.. there isnt a time where i dont need a tissue for this one.. I also liked The Body and Intervention.

The Body for me has the most impact. It was a great episode. It really shocked me, and as a fan of the show since the beginning that was a refreshing thing to see.

The whole episode is so silent, there's no music throughout and that adds to the atmosphere. Plus Anya's speech is so heartfelt. I cry at the scene everytime I watch it. Not to mention Joyce is the only person in the show to have died by natural causes.

Its such a memorable episode.
