The Body. Without any doubt. I just watched it again recently and i basically cried the whole episode. It takes a lot to make me cry and i just couldnt stop. It was just fantastic and emotionally provoking. It was just so real.

season 5 had some of the best episodes of Buffy out of all the seasons i think.my favourite episode was 'Tough Love' because it was about Willow and Tara, and you get to see how much they mean to eachother.plus this was the first time you get to see dark Willow, and you can see how much power she actually has.i havent seen the episode 'The Body' but i've heard its a really good and emotional episode, but if i had seen it i reckon i might like it more than 'Tough Love' as i like episodes that are true and show the emotions properly.i also really loved the episode 'The Gift',it was really sad but really good.

OK, I used to love "The Body", but recently I rewatched it and didn't really like it. Now I think it's overrated. Weird...

The Gift was my favorite even though I think I needed a whole box of tissues right afterwards but yeah it's deffinately imo the greatest episode of the season. I guess The Body kind of comes to a close 2nd for me though. And Buffy Vs...::bbat::

The best season five episode for me is probably Spiral, although it was my second favourite season overall so there are many episodes that I absolutely love from that year.

Fool for Love and The Gift
these are two of my all time favorite episodes of the whole show, not just season 5. Fool for love is awesome!
i love season five, the only episode i don't really dig is Triangle, though i very rarely watch The Body either - not because i don't like it, i don't know, i just find it too weird or something. but if i do watch it, Anya lack of understanding of human death always makes me cry, she's so innocent.

The Gift is my favourite but it was hard to choose between The Gift and The Body. I also liked Fool For Love, Replacement, Family...
I would have to say, "The Body" was my favorite season 5 episode because I think Sarah was such a great actress in this. When she found her mom's body lying on the couch and said, "Mommy?" I cried! I also liked how Joss made this episode. Like the part when, in Buffy's head, Joyce is revived. I half believed she wasn't dead! And how this was the only episode that didn't have any music. Also, what Anya said when Xander, Willow, Tara and her were in the dorm room made me cry!
exactly what i picked: do you really expect me to choose? season 5 has so many great episodes, i love the whole lot of them. of course it goes without saying how truly fantastic 'the body' is. that episode in my opinion is one of the best in the entire series. the acting was done to perfection, and i loved the way joss had no score or music in the episode. it really gave the audience that sense of realness of the situation. and it was an extremely great moment just because of all the things buffy has control over and can stop, this was one thing she had absolutely no control over and it made her real. it was truly a shame to lose joyce, she was a great woman.
'the gift' was also a great, as well as 'fool for love' i loved getting to look at spike's past like that, and the ending when buffy says 'you're beneath me.' i felt so much for spike in that moment. but 'family' i definitely one of my favorites. i just love willow & tara. and it was just wonderful when they all stood up for her in the magic box. ok, im gonna stop before i write something praising every episode...
