Best Season Ever!

season two has the best story arc out of all the seasons (angelus) but there were also some really bad episodes in there too.

Season 2 is amazing.
I love the whole connection between Angel and Buffy, I cried SO hard when Buffy had to kill Angel.
Especially since at the last second got his soul back, that kiss was really emotional.
For me, season 2 had everything, love, death, new friends, good lines.
And Joyce finds out about Buffy being the slayer.

My other two favorite seasons are Seasons 5 and 6.

School Hard
Halloween
What's My Line - Part 1
What's My Line - Part 2
Surprise
Innocence
Killed By Death
Becoming - Part 1

okay so basically almost all the episodes are amazing.

The ones I don't care for too much:
When She Was Bad
Inca Mummy Girl
Reptile Boy
Go Fish

Season 2 definitely had so many amazing episodes.

It is my favourite season. I'm a big Bangel fan and this season is so hard on them and that makes it so special. That is the beginning of their relethionship, and the he turns bad and she must to kill him 🙁 David was perfect with Angelus I didn't tought he can do it,but I like Angel more.He and Buffy will always be in my heart and I still hope there will be one more season or movie but with the sam crew and that Buffy and Angel will find they way 🙂
 
The third season is my favourite, but the second is second. 😀 It's got that classic Angelus storyline, which makes it awesome, but I think there's too many stand-alone crappy episodes for it to be the best.

Point well taken. 🙂 I guess the question which is better, 2 or 3, is basically the same as "does, in your opinion, a strong arc matter more than ep-by-ep quality"?

Which makes me wonder... do people who think BS2 is the best generally dislike AS5? I know that one was a major disappointment for me, as I'm definitely an arc lover - I know I'm of a tiny minority here, but I liked AS4 way better than AS5!

I do love a good arc though - I thought season 3 had a great one too, but almost every episode in season 3 was great, so for me it's just that tiny bit better.

And I guess I'm weird. I love Angel season 4 as much as season 5. I wouldn't be able to choose between them. 😛

S3 has the great eps And main arc.
Don't get me wrong, I certainly like the S3 arc, too, and I'm not saying it's a weak one. Still, if you're comparing just the arcs, S2 very clearly wins against S3 IMO... so that's why I like S2 that little tad better. 😉

Yeah, going by only the arcs season 2 would win out for me too, but season 3 is just that little bit better overall.

I'm not that obsessed with arcs. 😉

I don´t think THE BEST, but the season is great. I love Angelus, and the season had lots of characters, Spike, Dru, Buffy almost dying again, Giles almost dying... The rocket launcher!
It was a big season, I think the show lasted because if it, it saved the first one and hooked the audience for last.
 
My favourite seasons are 6 and 2, with 2 mostly because of the Angelus arc, though we also got Spike and Dru. Big, BIG plus there. I can even forgive most of the clunky standalones - though Some Assembly Required takes a whole lot of forgiving, and while I know they needed something light before Becoming - Go Fish? Aaarrgghh.

Still, S2 was such an improvement over S1 that when I think back to it it seems like S1 was shot in black-and-white. I know it wasn't, but boy, did things really take off mid S2.
 
Seasons 2 and 3 are where it's at. I mean, The Zeppo, Bewitched Bothered Bewildered, Dopplegang Land, The Wish. All amazing eps, and the overarching story through those 2 are the best of the series I think. Season 2 really needs all the love it can get.
 
Two is a great season, no doubt. Spike and Dru, Angelus, all good stuff. And Becoming (part 2) is one of my all time favourite episodes. I do love it but these days I'm more into the later seasons. Actually, I just watched season 4 and really really enjoyed it...

Umm I like season 5.I mean I don't love it.I hate Dawn she is so..arrrh..bad for the show.Hate her.But I hate season 6.I don't know.Whole Spuffy thing is just creepy for me.

yep, I meant Angel... "AS5" is how I abbreviate "Angel - Season 5" :)
I think Buffy s2 is definatly the best arc, specificaly the Angelus part. But i really like As5 too, imo better than As4 and 3. I think good consistancy in eps(like B3and 4) is more important, as the amazing Angelus arc was only about 6 episodes all in.
 
Oh Sorry I didn't saw that I'm all about Buffy 🙂
I'm not a big Angel fan,I mean I liked the show but Buffy is my number 1.
I disliked Angel and Cordelia relathionship.
 
I find that it is a really good season, it just takes a while to get rolling. I'm watching the season right now, and I'm dragging through the first two discs. There's not really a lot of excitement (expect for the introduction of Spike). But once you get to "What's my Line" I feel the season really takes off.
 
I thought this season had a lot more better episodes then bad ones.
Season 2 will always have a place in my heart for so many reasons, the end makes me cry every single time.
I hate that Buffy had to kill Angel, and I'll never truly forgive Xander for not giving Buffy the right message from Willow.
