True, I see it like that.. like two hour series finale! That episode is just so powerful, we meet Whistler who has amazing lines, also get to know something about Angel's past.. and the end of it.. my favourite scene ever in Buffy.
 
oh and Whistler's speech. It's my sister's and my favorite part about the entire show. That speech he makes at the end of Becoming pt1-- like music to my ears.
 
While I don't think it's outright the best season, it's up there. Some of the filler episodes are a bit dodgy which brings it down a little and I don't think enough time was devoted to the Angel/Angelus storyline as what could have been. But it was a fantastic season overall, and the final moments were heartbreakingly sad.
 
There definately filler episodes in this season but i enjoyed every single one of them. "Go Fish" is one episode that doesn't seem to be everyone's cup of Tea but personally i thought it was a really enjoyable episode. The storyline was interesting and i was never bored.
 
I just commented on this on the S3 board. It's so hard for me to decide since S3 is so excellent. But I think that S2 ranks just slightly higher for me, mainly because of the inclusion of Spike and Angelus (& intro of Oz and further inclusion of Cordy). DB is fantastic as Angelus. Buffy (the character and the show) really grows up in S2. S6 is still currently my fav though.
 
Season 2 is my all-time favorite season of Buffy. Season 6 was just... even worst than Season Four.
 
This is my favorite season of all seven. It has everything: romance,funny and creepy moments,pain, forgiveness, losing your innocence, secrets...EVERYTHING. And the reason I love it so much (aside from Bangel) is that the characters and their future paths are laid down right here, during these 22 episodes. It shows great development and plot twists which make it remarkable and unforgettable.
 
Season 2 is actually my least favorite season out of all. I find it incredibly boring, I can barely get through a lot of the episodes. I almost gave up on watching the show because of this season.

The upside to this season, Spike and Dru, Angelus, Cordy/Xander, Willow/Oz but most of that happens in the second half. The second half is better then the first. I also think Becoming is overrated. It's a good finale but far from the best in my opinion.

Season 2 boring? I like season 6 but if you are going to label a season boring then i'd pick that one not season 2.

The whole Angelus arc was fascinating and even the stand alone episodes i still found interesting.

IMO Season 6 was not boring. I love that season, depressing and dark yes, but boring I dont see that.

The Angelus arc was good but thats only the second half and hes not even in all of them once hes angelus. He's in the background for a lot of them.

Well, that's why season 6 is boring.. depressing, dark, Buffy not being Buffy, things falling apart.. it has some good episodes, but as a season, it's bad for me, and season 2 is the best for me.. it's just awesome!
 
Season 2 is a great season, but Ted, Bad Eggs, Killed By Death and Go Fish spoil it for me. Without those eps I would agree in saying that it's the best season.
 
Although I haven't actually seen season 2 in it's entire form I do believe that it is one of the best seasons of Buffy that there is. I have only seen up to the episode 'Suprise' and am really looking forward to watching Innocence as I know what happens.

The introduction of Spike and Dru was great. I actually love how sweet Spike is with her in the begining and I do love seeing him evil, it's great fun. In his first episode, School Hard, he was amazing and the first time you see him is epic. The guy really knows how to make an entrance. And although I don't like Drusilla much I do admitt that she added some slightly physco-like evil humour to the whole story. Overall, some of the best villians we've had on the show. Though I am a loyal Spuffy fan and all that, I do like myself an evil Spike.

Then, from what I know about the whole Angelus thing it seems pretty epic. I mean, I've seen him 'pretend' to be his bad self in season 3 to trick Faith so I know that it must be some show. It gives him some character, I say. It makes him more interesting to me, having him evil. I don't know. Maybe I'm just a sick person who loves seeing the guys all evil and killing people.

However, I don't have a favourite season, or I try not to. I also try not to have a least favourite. I think if I had to choose, from what I've seen, I like season 6 best but I do love season 2. Hah, heck. I love 'em all.

Season 2 is for me, definitely the BEST season. I would argue that this season is when I really fell in love with the show, where I really became invested in the characters and storylines, etc. For this reason S2 will always have a special place in my heart. 🙂
 
I love season 2 so much because of a simple reason: it's Buffy, simply pure Buffy. That's how the series started being really good. It's not just the spisodes itself, it's the entire package, of Slayer, vampires, watchers, hellmouth... Also, that's the season where I realized I'm a fan.
I put this season and season 5 at the same spot, of being pure Buffy. The only difference between the two is, S2 is pure Buffy of the begining of the series, and S5 is the pure Buffy of the later series.
 
Season 2 is my favourite, but thats also the first season I watched, so I like it for that reason as well
 
Definitely Buffy's best season. We have Spike when he was an actual badass, the most emotionally compelling episodes for the main characters, and Angel's brilliant turn as the Whedonverse's scariest villain.
 
I am about to rewatch this season and I am tremendously excited about it. I haven't rewatched it in it's entirety for about five years and I'm a completely different person, with completely different experiences now.

I always did love this season and I would watch a lot of individual episodes from it over the years. Love the entire Angelus arc. Makes Angel a much more interesting character. To see what he really has just lurking beneath the surface. Total awesomeness.
