Best season ever?

No. At least not in my opinion.
Although I really, really like it. But it isn't my least favorite either.
Season 6 is the best in my opinion.
I can't really sort all the seasons by how much I like them, but Season 3 could be place 3 or 4.
 
Was Season 3 the best? Well . . . it was the best of the early years, in my opinion. But I don't think it was the best overall.
 
Yeah, but 5 gets honorable mention.
I think that if the writers could bring Angel back in the lamest of ways and negate all of the second half of season 2 yet still pull off a rockstar of a season like that, then it deserves the props.

Plus Vamp Willow ftw.
 
definetly season 3, there was so much going on with all the charcters and a lot of good storylines I really liked, the majority of my favourite episode are from this season 🙂
 
Well, I have heard this opinion before. Personally, I don't get it totally but I will admitt that it was a very good season. I just hate it when people say that the first three years were the BEST three years of Buffy just because they can't deal with change. Season Three had some really good arcs, episodes and characters. Doppelgangland, Gingerbread, The Wish, Lover's Walk, Enemies, Band Candy etc are all amazing episodes and Faith is in the season and in my opinion she's a better villain than The Mayor or The Master. But her relationship with the Mayor was amazing and she's a great character.

I'm not loving the Angel stuff in this season. This is my least favourite Bangel season because I don't MIND them all the time--but they were so boring in this season that it was ridiculous. I mean, he was dead. I'm not saying he should have stayed dead but could they be more interesting. Ah well, I can't do anything about it.

OVerall it was a great season but I still like Season Six, Season Two, Season Five etc more.

i don't think it's about that. buffy, in its essence, was about a 16 year old high school girl who fights demons at night and that was the show. that it continued on was only because the first seasons *were* that successful. so to say that if someone liked the first 3 seasons best only because they can't deal with change doesn't seem like a fair statement to me. to me, i just like them best because they showed was the series was originally going for.
although i must admit that season 4 is my least favourite season, mainly because, yes, there is too much change.
angel, riley, oz, willow, giles no longer a librarian, the fact that high school doesn't exist anymore. doesn't mean i couldnt find anything good about the later seasons though.
so to sum up, i'd only agree with you if someone said that the first 3 seasons were the best and everything after that was shit. cos that's just not true.

I'm genuinely sorry if this offended you. I actually didn't mean to offend anybody when I wrote that and I'm truly sorry. I don't normally make generilsations like that. Well, I do but not conciously. I'm not going to be a bitch and get into an argument over it. I love seasons 1, 2 and 3 also. I actually think 2 is one of the best seasons there is. I don't really believe that it's about not dealing with change. Because I've stated before that everyones reasons for things are different. I don't like people who write stuff like that either so I'm sorry...again. 😀

Yeah I would say Season 3 is the best for me, closely followed by 2 and 5.

That being said I do find that the more I watch the show the more my opinion changes. When I first saw Season 4 I hated it, then I saw it again a few years later and appreciated it more. I still think it's one of the poorest seasons in the series but I learned to appreciate what was happening within the scooby gang. As the years go by and you begin to experience these things yourself you can relate more to it. That's just for me personally.

I prefer Season 5 in terms of the growth of the characters though. To me Season 4 displayed a lot of immaturity within the Scooby Gang, whereas in Season 5 they really did learn to grow up.

Damn, I am determined to get the entire series on dvd this week after writing that. Surely it's cheap now yeah? 😛
 
I think season 5 is best season ever. I liked the whole Glory/Ben and just about everything in this season.
 
I gotta say season 2. Man, from where it starts with finishing the Masters Bones to Buffy getting on a bus to go to LA: amazing growth and quite a rollercoaster ride!

Season 4 is really good too: not for Adam (anyone else feel like the writers forgot about making a big bad and just threw him together at the last second?) but the character development was outstanding.
 
After watching them all I was like "Season 5 & 7 are the best" but after watching them a second time I think that Season 2 & 3 are the best. Three has all my favourite episodes like "F, H & T," "Homecoming," "Band Candy," Gingerbread," "Bad Girls," and more...
I think season 4 has to be the worst althought it does have some great episodes in it aswell.
Season 6 could possibly be the worst because without OMWF it would be the most depressing thing i've ever watched. Plus there's too much Spuffy.
 
I've done this with "24" too - every time I try to list my favorite seasons, the order changes. The only thing I'm sure about with BtVS is that 5 is my favorite and 7 will always be my least favorite (by far). After 5 I think it's 3, 2, 4, 6, 1 and 7 in that order. I would put 6 higher if they had not had to write out Giles. I know that was an impossible task but the way they did it was implausible. He would never have left Buffy at that time.
