Best season of Buffy

This has probably been done before but i couldn't find it. Whats your best season then? I picked 4. I was tempted to pick 2 but i figured 4 wont get many votes and i love it. So 4 for me. I think its the funniest and has the best stand alones of the series, and i think it was spike, giles, and anyas best season.

I went with S4 too. I know a lot of people hate on it, but I feel it's when the characters really become who they are and come into their own. Adam as a Big Bad was kinda lame, but besides that I think it was a great season.

Yep, been done before but they seem to be all in the cemetary so doesn't hurt to make a new one. And I'm going with season 6. It's either that or 5.

Season 7 is the best season in my opinion. I know a lot of people don't rate it that much, but I loved it.

I voted season 3. I love all the seasons in their own way, but the high school years were special and I think Buffy became a very strong show at this point. Just full of classic episodes.

Lets see...

Season 1 - Even though I love many of the quite silly episode on this first season it just doesn't have the weight and quality to be the best.
Season 2 - Perhaps the best arc ever with Angelus and an amazing finale. A good candidate.
Season 3 - Classic in every way, brilliant villain in the form of the Mayor. Another favorite.
Season 4 - Has so many great episode. Adam isn't a favorite though.
Season 5 - Love this season, another brilliant finale. Hmm...
Season 6 - A bit to depressing to my favorite.
Season 7 - Great beginning, then lots of potentials. It's a great story actually but I kinda miss scooby meetings without a room filled with (more or less) strangers.

So, it's down to season 2, 3 or 5.
I feel that the classic high school years is a bit above the rest though. It was just funnier somehow...
Now the real problem begins. Want to say season 2 because it got such an awesome finale. But season 3 has so many brilliant episodes and Faith... so it got to be season 3.

I voted season five. I'm not sure what it is about this season that makes me like it above all the others, but it's definitely my favourite.

I think everything just comes together really well - the seasonal arc, the character arcs, the plot and the standalones.

Next up for me would be seasons 6 & 7, then 4, 3, 2 and 1. I much prefer the later seasons to the high-school years.

It's still S2 for me, and likely will remain so, even though S3 is a very close contender for me. The Angelus arc + Sprusilla just makes this season to be pure Buffy as I love it (you all might know by now I'm one of those who generally prefer the highschool years). S3 has a better ratio of great episodes, but the arc of S2, leading up to what I still consider the probably best finale of any season of either show, will always remain my fave. Geez, back in S2, I even actually kinda liked Bangel. *gasp!*

My favorite is Season Six. We have Once More, With Feeling, the Dark Willow series, and tons of other amazing episodes.

Here are my basic views of the seasons:

Season 1: Just awful. After you've seen all the other seasons, it's pretty much unwatchable, in my opinion.
Season 2: Starts off slowly, but picks up a LOT after Surprise and develops one of the best, most engaging arcs of the whole series. If it weren't for the multiple mediocre episodes spread throughout, it'd be my favorite season.
Season 3: Just brilliant. I honestly can't think of a single bad thing about it.
Season 4: Not so great. The main arc is really boring, but luckily, there are a few really good standalones thrown in to offer the viewer some relief.
Season 5: See what I said about season 3.
Season 6: It starts off SO well, then has a bit of a dry spell in the middle before it goes out with a bang.
Season 7: Starts off well, but plummets after the Potentials show up.

So overall, my choice is between seasons 3 and 5. I always have a hard time choosing between them. Both of them have incredible main arcs and neither have any bad episodes (a couple of mediocre ones, perhaps, but no BAD ones). But in the end, my vote always goes to season 5, if only because all of my favorite couples are alive and kicking in it.

Season 5, its my favorite overall season. Great episodes, awesome arc, my favorite big bad, exceptional Spuffy romantic tension. Love it all!

In terms of best overall story arc and all that, S3 has got to win in my opinion. Yet, S6 is my personal favorite, although it's far from being the "best".

^^I know what you mean. I think 3 and 5 are best seasons. But my personal fave is 4 and thats what i chose.

A personal opinion is that i think season 6 is the best! I love how each character has such a prominent yet completely different personal story arc..but regardless of how different they are..they are all centered around the same principle...Life as the Big Bad...and it's just really clever how they all intertwine at different points through out the entire season...

if you haven't guessed...i voted for season 6 🙂

I think Season 2 is the best, for many reasons but 3 is a personal fav. Although 2 is also a personal fave....🙁

Hmm! I really imagined 3 would be in the lead or at least 2nd. Not that it got my vote or anything, just always thought that would be the most popular.
