Can I not vote yet, or at all? I can explain why!

For years I've tried to decide which season is my favorite. Every once in a while I changed my mind. I thought it was season 6. But I've decided that it's not very fun. So much Spuffy just isn't enough for me to make the season enjoyable. It's too dark. And I don't just mean the atmosphere, but also the way it was shot. If seemed darker.

Season 3 is a little bleh to me. Not because it's not good. But I have a few problems with it I guess. For one, Faith annoys me. Secondly, Buffy and Angel annoy me, they ruined the season, they kept breaking up and getting back together every other episode. Third, no enough Spike. Those are just my guess as to why I don't really like this season.

Season 4 is so fun and I enjoy it a lot. But it has too many problems. That doesn't stop me from liking it very much. But I'm not sure if it's my favorite. Sometimes I think it is. I think it's the one I enjoy the most, it's my most watchable one.

Season 2 is classic, and I have a weakness for it because of it. It was pretty much perfect. Pretty much. So it might be my favorite.

On the other hand, there's season 5. Which is as good as season 2, IMO. Very intense. But a little depressing in the ending. Not because of Buffy's death, but because Dawn doesn't die.

Seasons 1 and 7 I don't really put on the list of my potential fave, because they're last on my list. And this is your favorite season, so why keep talking about them?

Conclusion: I'm not voting.

Lol at why the end of season Five is Depressing!

vote 4 it needs the votes.
Gotta go with Season 2, even if they are mainly sentimental reasons 😛

Season 2 was when I REALLY got into the show, and as such it tends to be the season I rewatch a lot. And I mean, the acting's great, the scriptwritting is good (With a few hiccups *Cough*Go Fish*Cough*) and it had some great episodes (I Only Have Eyes For You, Passion/Innocence, Becoming Pts. 1 & II, among others)

And one word. Bangel 🙂

Bangel karma!
I voted season 2, but could've voted for season 7 too.

Season 2 because it was truly epic. It got me hooked solid with Bangel and all the stuff that happened that could so easily be translated to a normal girl's life (like the fact of sleeping with a boy and him changing completely afterward). Angelus was just awesome and Spike and Drusilla made the season even better.

Season 7 because it's the last one. I know lot of people hate on it, but I love that season. Part of the reason might be because I saw it so many times (it's the first season I got on DVD). But even if the Potentials weren't that good actresses (I can't stand Kennedy and Rona...) and the First wasn't so hard to defeat after all (I love the Gang, but I kinda wish someone else would have died with Anya... A battle that big and only Anya dies??? Not so realistic...) I love it.

I love Conversation with Dead People and all the controversy with Cassie asking Willow to kill herself, Dawn thinking that she's talking to her mom but we're never sure if it's really her, Buffy using a vampire as a shrink (XD)...

I love the episodes with Caleb, because he's some crazy priest that - for me - looks like a representation of the religious (and other causes) maniacs out there who would do anything for their cause, including killing people.

I love Chosen because Buffy (well Willow mostly) changed the entire meaning of being a slayer. And Willow controlled her magic for good. And the burning scene with Spike made me cry my eyes out.

For all those reasons, I get that many people hate season 7, but I can't do it. I just love it too much to hate it 😛

As for my least favorite seasons now... 4 and 1

S1 because it was the first season... A first draft that could have been done better if they had the budget at the time. It's wasn't as bad as season 4 and the plot was good... for a first season.

S4 because I can't stand Riley (beginning of S5 was hard for that, but he was a bit less painful to watch then since he was about to leave) and the whole Initiative stuff was just awful to me. And Hush still gives me nightmares (I'm easily scared) when I watch it.

Best season - S6. Back to the quality of S2&3, with a vengeance... and this time without the Bad Hair Dude mucking about... 😉
Best part - Highschool in general.

Worst season - S5... had a general cheap flavor to its look/style, and way too much Joyce.
Worst part - A certain someone returning form Acathla's Hell, and just about every single Bangel moment post Becoming.

BtW... Best episode: Becoming Two-Parter. A choice that may surprise some peeps. 😉

Umm... didn't you get confused with the seasons? 🙂

nope... just me having a weird and complicated taste, again. ;)
Season 6, season 6, season 6. And season 6. A dark, twisted, beautiful masterpiece. I don't care what everyone else has to say about it. I walk alone, I walk alone. 😉

If I really had to choose, it'd be season 3. The show had really got into its stride, and could do more than it could before. The introduction of Faith, and the Mayor. Faith was such a great character, and shows quite well how Buffy could have turned out if it wasn't for Giles, Xander, and Willow. (Buffy was very Faith-like in The Wish without those guys).

I like the fact Faith isn't explicitly made out to be a troubled girl. We feel bad for her and have sympathy, but only from her little remarks about her past that make you completely aware of why she is the way she is, and why she rejects help and so on. It's not shoved in our face. We don't get to find out her whole backstory, but that's because we don't need to. The small amount of information is just right.

Season 3 was also the end of the high school years, and it certainly went out with a bang. (hoho!) Very enjoyable overall, with some amazing episodes. I really can't fault it.

I guess I don't enjoy Faith's arc as much as most people do. But I know what you mean about her, and I've written a lot about it and her in an article, which gave me the chance to really explore and analize the character. For a character that isn't a main one, she's one of the most complex ones.

I enjoyed Faith more on Angel, to be honest. But as a Slayer I found her fascinating. Even though she went through less than Buffy (Buffy was making life and death decisions while Faith was in jail), she had a lot to sort out in her own head, and decide who she was going to be. A very real fictional character.

Yeah, I liked her on Angel more too. I mean, I don't really like Faith in general, as a person, but I didn't feel any hate towards her on Angel. She did awesome!

InsaneMystic agrees: nope... just me having a weird and complicated taste, again

I admit that was my first thought 🙂
But then I read this:

Worst part - A certain someone returning form Acathla's Hell, and just about every single Bangel moment post Becoming

You wrote that about season 5. And it was in season 2.

And this:

Best part - Highschool in general

about season 6, which wasn't in high school.

Chosen Enemy... ahhh I get your confusion now, lol! I kinda ordered the list oddly, the best part & worst part weren't meant to be about those seasons, but about the show as a whole. 🙂

I went with season 3. I absolutely adore everything about this season. I always will it's by far the best for me.

Best: Faith, enemies the ep, graduation
Worst: I actually can't think of anything off the top of my head.

For me, Season 3 is pretty much perfect. Yes, the Bangel stuff got annoying towards the end, but there is nothing wrong with this Season beyond that. Everything else in this season is perfect to me. The string of superb episodes is unmatched. And I just loved the Faith arc. She added so much to the show when she was on it. A close second for me is Season 6. In my rewatch I have come to really love that season. I love the darkness of it. The Dark Willow episodes are mind-blowing, and possibly serve as the best season finale ever on the show. Next for me would be Season 5, then Season 2, then Season 7, Season 4, and finally Season 1.

what, season 7 ahead of season 4?...mind blown!
I love the season 7 because there are lot of action, feelings, love....but i must say that i love all the seasons.

Season 6 is definitely the best one to me.

I love the thematic, the storylines and the way they explored the darkness of the main characters. Emotionnaly, I think it was the strongest and most interesting season.

Season 5 for me.

The Gift is just too amazing for words. I love a lot of Buffy's journey that season too. How she discovered that death is her gift and that she won't give up her sister. I just like it all.

I voted on this some time ago now but here's how I see it.

Season 1 is an extremely charming and funny season. But lacks some of epicness that comes later.

Season 2 and 3 are my favorites. It's a very close call between them. Season 2 has an absolutely brilliant season finale and the amazing twist of Angel/Angelus.
Season 3 got Faith, the Mayor, the episode Earshot and is just slightly better overall imho. So that's my vote for best season.

Season 4 is disqualified by Adam's sometimes rather boring speeches my least favorite overall arc. So many classic episodes though.

Don't have much bad things to say about season 5. Love Glory and I like the Dawn / key arc. Amazing finale again. It still not quite there compared to the earlier seasons though. Not sure why, perhaps it just gets a bit more serious?

Season 6 gets a bit too depressing.

The finale season is also lovely. But I, as I've seen many others also say, think that it lacks a bit of the great group dynamic from the earlier seasons. Just not enough scooby times I guess.
