Best season of the Spin-Off?

I can't really say why but I really prefer the 5th season from all other Angel seasons! With a huge distance! Anybody here who felt the same? Maybe it's because Spike is back maybe I love the new, action based fights. Does anybody here feel the same?

Yeah it's my favourite season too. I thought it was lighter in tone due to Spike being there and overall more easy to watch than some of the previous seasons.

The first time around it sure was. Now I'm not as sure. 2 or 3 could take it. Hopefully I'll know after the next rewatch. Season 1 isn't bad but it won't be my favourite. Season 4 get a lot of crap but I enjoy more than a few things about it.

One thing's for sure though. Season 5 will probably have the most moments I remember and/or find funny.

Yeah I have a twisted opinion about season 4 too! And season 5 is surely the funniest season!
Maybe it's because I saw it like 20 times (and only saw the others 1-2 times), but I agree. It's funny, intense and full of my favorite Angel ships (Wes/Fred, Cangel, Spangel, Lindsey/Eve) 😀
 
I really did enjoy season 5...but I'm not sure if it's my favorite. I really missed them being a family. I feel like they kind of lost that after the Connor kidnapping fiasco 🙁. It was a really fantastic season though. It might be my favorite, I need to do a re-watch of Angel.
 
I love AtS S5 so damn much. It's the only season I've actually rewatched. It's extremely consistent with awesome episodes and the characters in general--and Angel-Spike dynamic is absolutely priceless. Fred turns to Illyria, Wesley's death, NFA... What more coud you ask for?

Except Harmony. I loathe her. Why was she even in the credits?

haha I disagree completely, I think the fifth is the worst one. It turned into such a weird show that season. It was too much silly comedy and so many boring stand alone episodes.
Season 4 is the best IMO.

Yup season 4 has something too! But for me it was the most confusing season!
I really love season 5 and I agree with everything drizzlydaze said about it (especially about Harmony) but I think for me the best season is a tie between s4 and s5, I love them both a lot and can't really decide which one tips the scales...

I cannot decide which is my favourite, I know season 5 is my least favourite (although I still love it), this is mainly because the interpersonal and familial type relationships are less important in this season.
 
I just realized how much character focused the episodes are. I never saw this before. Sometimes they show Spike so helpless that you feel a lot with him when you know that Ange lslept with Dru to hurt him. In other episodes you can truely understand Angel and feel with him. In others Harmony is pictured very lonely and you really want to help her. Fred, Wesley even Cordi had her special episode!
 
I like season 5 a lot, but I would say that season 3 is my favorite (or season 2, can't decide!). But I am a season 4 fan, too. Really, there isn't a season of Angel that I don't like LOL. I really dislike the lack of Cordy in season 5, though. 🙁
 
Season 5 i my favourite season! And Harmony only adds to that cause she is pure awesomeness!!

Personally, I love the end of season 4, but hate the beginning and middle.

I think Season 1 was jut getting its groundings as a tv show, but it was still awesome

Season 2 was amazing!! Darla, then Pylea. Make it super awesome.

Season 3 was also AH-MAH-ZING. Especially as we got to see more Fred and Lilah.

Soo, favourite season is 5, then 3,2,1,4
 
Season 2-3 for me blend into one, and funnily enough I like Buffy and Angel Series 2 and 3 pretty much equally. I think Angel Season 2 probably takes it for me out of all of them though.
 
It is not only my favorite AtS season, but one of the best in the Whedonverse.

First, it has "Not Fade Away," which is one of the best episodes of TV I have ever seen.

Spike brings an amazing dimension to the show. My least favorite character in the Whedonverse, Connor, is thankfully gone for most of the season, and when he comes back, I actually like him. Fred/Illyria is amazing. Harmony, someone I never really cared for, is brilliant. Everything worked in Season 5.

The only thing I missed was Liliah. I loved her, and was sad that she was gone.
 
I can't decide between 2 and 3 for my favourite season. Season 1 they were finding their feet, season 4 had the whole icky storyline which even the writers made fun of in season 5 and season 5 just didn't feel fresh and fun to me anymore. I liked the show all the way through but felt that it was at its best during 2 and 3.
 
I've tried to figure out which season is my favorite but I can never settle on just one. I thoroughly enjoyed all five seasons.

But to me, it seemed like seasons 2-4 was just one long developing story arc.

Season five could have easily been my favorite, but things were kind of slow until about the middle of the season, but once things picked up, it produced some of my favorite episodes in the entire series:

"You're Welcome"
"A Hole in the World"
"Shells"
"Not Fade Away"

If there was a gun to my head, I'd probably go with season five simply because of the the episodes I mentioned above, but if I could choose seasons 2-4 as if it had been "one season" then I'd go with that.
