I think season 6 was the best by far. However i have read on the boards that some people hate buffy season 6.
I LOVE IT BECAUSE:
1# Tara and Willow together
2# Dawn being out of control
3# The storylines and The Magic Boxxxx

I LOVE IT.
What do you think?

I HAVE ALWAYS loved s6!!
I don't have my worst season, actually. I have only the seasons I love(S2, 3, 5, 7) and the seasons I like(S1, 4, 6).

The only things I don't like about season 6 are the TOO hot sex scenes and Tara's death. I always think they killed her off because they need Dark Willow to make an epic finale because The Trio theirselves can't make epic fight. 🙂 And I love The Magic Box. They shouldn't have destroyed it. 🙁

Now what I like...
- Willow and Tara are so cute together.
- Once More With Feeling 😀
- Everyone is in pain. It's sad, but that made them grew up to be good adults.

Yeah Season6 is my favorite too!

i LOVE it because Buffy grows/matures more.
I love how her life turns upside down.
I also love Omwf.
i hate how Tara dies though 🙁
Dark willow was awesome, and so unexpected. wellll maybe not. ha. she was a pretty powerful Wicca before,

i also really like S4 now! i never used to, i thought it was a bit boring, but i realize how great it was.
I love Freshmen buff.
I hate Wild at heart. so sad 🙁
I love fear itself, pangs , something Blue, a new man.
I also Love Primeval, i don't have to explain how cool Buff is turning bullets into Doves!

ha.
S2,S3,S5 are really good too though 🙂

i don't have a worst season, my least favorites were S1 +S7.

S7 was good, i just didn't like knowing it was coming to an end .

lol.

I think this is probably my 'worst' season if I was going to put them in an order.

I just found it to be weaker than the rest and I didn't find it as exciting as the others.

I absolutely cannot stand Dark Willow, so I found the end of the series incredibly frustrating and annoying to watch.

I liked seeing Tara as her own character, I was actually more invested in her when she wasn't with Willow and I wish they had explored that a bit more. I thought she was so much more interesting on her own and it really explored how gentle and caring she was and that she was actually an extremely strong and intelligent woman, who I feel was largely pushed to the side when she was with Willow.

I didn't really like seeing Buffy so self-destructive, but it was an interesting plot line, I must admit.

There are obviously things I do like about it, but the bad things tend to jump to my mind a lot quicker than they do with the other seasons which is why I would say it probably it is my 'worst.'

Wow, Flannen. How are we friends when we disagree about everything?? LOL JK

Season Six is my favorite Buffy season. Spike/Buffy is my favorite 'ship, so that's a main reason. We also have the amazing musical episode, "Once More, With Feeling", the introduction of Andrew, and Dark Willow, whom I loved. Even though Tara died, and that majorly sucked, I still say it's my favorite.

LOL, disagreeing is healthy! :p
I would rank it as my least favourite season for sure, if I'm being honest. However, that's not to say I think it is terrible, I happen to agree with some of the sentiment here that while I would rank it as my least favourite, I wouldn't say that I hate it. I mean, come on, it has Once More, With Feeling for crying out loud as well as Tabula Rasa, it's just for me I think it piles on way too much angst and darkness and, I don't mean to sound like a conservative prude because I'm not, some of the sex scenes betweeen Spike and Buffy were way to explicit when they didn't need to be.

Overall I find it to be a flawed but interesting piece of work, but I was glad the show got back to basics for season seven.

It's my second favorite season! :-D

Its probably my least favorite season if i had to choose, although i did like it alot. The characters and story weren't as captivating as the other seasons, it was all magic junkie Willow and Spuffy blah blah blah. Plus Dark Willow was kinda lame. Overall still good though, especially up til Tabula rasa.

I neither love nor hate season 6. There are some points throughout the season that made me bored but there were also some very good moments (mainly from the nerds). 😀
I have to agree that tabula rasa was my favourite episode in the whole season, i was laughing the whole way through it....oh and the musical episode was amazing too

Season 6 is my favorite season, but certainly not the best of the show. The season is probably the most hated among the fans. I'm used to it.

I'm more than willing to admit the season has faults. The only part about the season I really dislike is The Trio. While Warren made an excellent villain, Andrew is obnoxious as all hell, and Jonathan was just boring. The whole Dark Willow/Addiction to magic thing was a little overdone, and the season finale was weak in comparison to others, for sure.

Well, I think that season 6 is quite different from the others. I like it because it seems everyone is changed, or they are grown up now. Remember Willow or Xander from the fist season? Wow, thaht's the change. Season six is more about serious life problems- money, depression... I like it. But I must admit it, in some ways I miss season 1, 2, or 3. High school and everything.

I guess that was a problem I had as well Anabelle, because when it comes to season seven, I love the fact that it almost feels like a return to what the series was when it started almost, or it has that feel. I'll give Joss and Marti a A for effort with regards to season six, they tried to do something a little different and try and deal head first with the notion that the characters were older and now dealing with inherently more grown up problems, but I always have to ask the same question with regards to season six, "where's the fun?" because it can get a little much at times.

It's not my favourite season, but it is a good one. It is a tad depressing, to put it lightly, but I liked that. Maybe I'm a bit morbid, but I enjoyed watching them all self-destruct. Made for good tv.

ha yeah me too!
it does make good t.v 😉

When I first saw BTVS all the way through, season 6 was actually my least favourite season of them all. In addition to the Spike/Buffy relationship (which I wasn't a huge fan of), I found the Trio storyline to be almost unbearably cheesey and seeing the scoobies slowly going downhill was leaving me more depressed after watching an episode than anything. With the exception of Grave, I was a firm believer that season six was the weakest collection of episodes in the show's 7 year run.

That being said, I was pretty young when I watched it at first (about 14 or 15 I suppose), and I think that because I wasn't at a point in my life where I could relate to any of the characters, that may be why I thought it to be so dissapointing. Our beloved heroes were all kind of having a fall from grace; and moreso than in any other season I think we saw them encounting real life issues (money troubles, taking a less than glamourous job to make ends meet, dealing with growing responsibilities to your family, relationships based on sex, addictions, etc). Now when I watch that season I can better identify with what some of the characters went through and I'm finding myself appreciating a lot of the episodes like I hadn't before. The writer's took an approach that really changed how viewers saw the characters we'd grown to love, and in turn started to appeal to an older audience that they may have had in Season 1.

It was a little depressing, but that's how real life is sometimes too. In the end the (surviving) characters of BTVS came out of the season a lot stronger, and that kind of gives me hope for my own life ahead. Somehow amongst all that destructive, chaotic behaviour in season 6, I found myself with a sense of optimism at the end.

I think that's part of what made the season good. Yeah, they were going downhill, but everything got resolved and the before-angst added so much more to the resolutions. Plus, it was great for catharsis!

Pretty much agree with everyone who has this as their "favorite". Well, I even understand why people don't like it, but isn't that just what makes people so interesting?

I really don't like the magic/drug metaphor though because it was just so blatant. They could take away the word "magic" and replace it with "heroin" or "cocaine" and it would still play the same. Addiction is addiction, but it just seemed all too cliche and movie of the week. The Trio was great, although Jonathan was a bit boring. His magic stick though? Hilariously nerdy.

The pain was very deep, Buffy's especially and SMG really nailed it all season.

Well, it's not my favorite.

I miss the fun, the depression never ends.
It has some great moments though and I don't really mind a season that goes to some very dark places.

But I'm still glad that not all seasons are as dark as season 6.

/SK

i liked season 6 but i didnt want tara to die i wanted her and wilow to grow together and live happily ever after. dark willow rocks though but i dont like the fact willow will be dark again at some point i thought her being the white goddess meant she was pure good

I know where you're coming from. I always thought Tara's murder was one of Joss Whedon's most cruel plot twists. I know it was necessary for the story, but it was still a real heartbreaker.
