OK what are your fave speeches which ep are they from and what season
please post as many speeches an you can think of that you love

Spikes speech in "Touched" in S7 definitely. And Buffy's speech in S4.. dunno what episode but she says something like "That would have been more convincing if I wasn't wearing my yummy sushi pajamas..."

Buffy's speech in Chosen.

Edit

Man! You beat me to it, Vicariously!

all the S7 speechs were pretty impressive! Loved spikes in touched. Who was that saying about blood rushing to his feet??! hah. And who can go past "the gift" with dawny and buffy.. Always makes me cry 🙁

Anyas part of the big sppech towards the end of series 7 was awesme... you know the one were hes saying buffys basically just lucky

I have two favorites...both said by Anya...shocking I know 😛

Her speech in The Body was so heartbreaking and so well done! I can say no more! One word just sums it up: Amazing!

I also love her speech in End of Days...telling Andrew how humans were stupid for fighting. How it could get them killed yet when they really believe in something they keep fighting. So she'd keep fighting too. Loved it! 🙂

I'm with TV on the Anya ones, but also, gotta love it, Xander's speech in Potential;

You thought you were all special -- Miss Sunnydale 2003. And the minute you found out you weren't, you handed the crown to Amanda without a moment's pause. You gave her your power.
They'll never know how tough it is, Dawnie, to be the one who isn't Chosen, to live so near the spotlight and never step in it. But I know. I see more than anybody realizes because nobody's watching me. I saw you last night. I see you working here today. You're not special. You're extraordinary.

Tueuse de Vampires

that was a great one. And it shows that by being normal D. and X. are in some ways more special than all those ones that have the power

awww tear! I loved that scene!
Without a doubt, Spike's speech in "Touched" as to be the greatest of the entire series, followed closely, of course, by his other one to the gang of traitors the episode before, but to me, his short, succinct statements, "Is there anything that I can do" that first night on Buffy's back porch will always be a classic, along with, "I made a promise to a lady," "I know you'll never love me..." and "Every night I save you." (You just can't beat a poet in love for eloquence!)

you said it dude!!!
Spike's speech about love in Lover's Walk

You're *not* friends. You'll never be friends.
You'll be in love till it kills you both. You'll fight, and you'll shag,
and you'll hate each other till it makes you quiver, but you'll never be
friends. Love isn't brains, children, it's
blood...blood screaming inside you to work its will.
*I* may be love's bitch, but at least *I'm* man enough to admit
it.

YAY! Love it!
All of the great speeches in season 7 prove that it does not deserve all of the flak that it gets, and may even be the best season of the lot.

Anya's monologue in The Body.

And Xander's speech when he tells Anya he loves her (I forget the episode).

Both of them made me run to my keyboard and write them down so I wouldn't forget them.

These are mine...

Passion.
It lies in all of us.
Sleeping...Waiting...and though unwanted...
...unbidden...it will stir...
...open it's jaws and howl.
It speaks to us... guides us... Passion rules us all. And we
obey. What other choice do we have?

Passion is the source of our finest moments. The
joy of love... the clarity of hatred... and the ecstasy of grief.

It hurts sometimes more than we can bear.

If we could live without passion, maybe we'd know
some kind of peace. But we would be hollow.

Empty rooms, shuttered and dank...

Without passion, we'd be truly dead.

You're *not* friends. You'll never be friends.
You'll be in love till it kills you both. You'll fight, and you'll shag,
and you'll hate each other till it makes you quiver, but you'll never be
friends. (points at his temple) Love isn't brains, children, it's
blood... (clasps his chest) blood screaming inside you to work its will.

I killed Angel! Do you even remember that? I would have given up everything I had to be with— I loved him more than I will ever love anything in this life. And I put a sword through his heart because I had to.

Beautiful speeches.
You like the vamp boys and their speeches, eh?

You know what I wish? I wish Drusilla had gotten a speech. At the end. In the last episode (cuz I always thought she should have been there for Spike's death). It could have been a Silent Bob thing. I wish she'd just let it rip with like the most coherent fabulous speech of the entire series and then, to Spike's sardonically raised eyebrow, she returned with a Drusilla-fied version of, "What? B***, what you don't know about me, I can just about fit in the Grand F****** Canyon." That would have been hilarious!

Edit:

Keanoite agrees: Silent Bob respect! and yes A dru moment like you just described would have been golden
white avenger agrees: Handled properly, it could have also been a real tear jerker, poignant and deeply moving. I'd never thought of that before.

Yup. Would have been a tear-jerker too, natch. Just like Silent Bob's Chasing Amy speech (the epitome of Kevin Smith speeches for me, by the way).

Maybe it's just cuz I'm a Dru fan, but I always thought she should have had more of a role in the ending of both shows. Angel and Spike were her boys first. She deserved to be there for the send-off. I always thought she and both of those guys had unfinished business.
