We all know Buffy can be overboard in protecting her friends so that could be the reason why.

I would say Willow, but we've actually only seen her magically stake a vamp once. Which makes me wonder why she didn't go out staking with Buffy

Maybe Buffy worry about Willow
& wants to keep her safe ?

No. Because nothing would get wrong with Willow using magic every night right?

The writers could probably have come up with a way for Willow to have dusted every single vampire in Sunnydale, if not all of California, at the flick of a wrist, but then there wouldn't have been anything for Buffy to do, and it is, after all, her show.

And we know that Buffy was never the easy with anything

It's about psychology. In that situation Buffy is more likely to freak out than Faith because she has more loved ones and needs/wants that support.
Faith wouldn't freak. She's usually fairly unfreakout-able- see her conversation with Wesley in S4.

good points. I'd also add that Faith is much more selfish. When I say selfish, I do not mean this in the pejorative in her case (on this point at least). She really only has herself to look out for (not just literally, but in an emotional-intellectual-spiritual sense too, which has a very concrete and tangible effect in 'real-life' dangerous situations as these for her.). Faith would not be burdened by the kinds of considerations that most of the other characters would suffer from, to some degree or another. Maybe the better word to use would be autonomy: Faith has more of it, and as a result would fair better and suffer less handicaps in such a situation.

Angel or spike. Willow usually has things go wrong with her magic. Probably angel because he would stand back and brood whereas Spike would likely have a few drinks then go looking for a fighting good time. You never know though because Spike does seem to have an easier time with living than Angel.

I agree but there one thing wrong there. Buffy had reasons to stay alive but I don't see many reasons for Faith to do so myself.
