Best things in your childhood

Definitely better TV then: Are You Afraid of the Dark, Doug, Hey, Dude, Salute Your Shorts, etc.

MUCH better movies all around.

Reading The Babysitters Club books and Fear Street.

Playing board games all the time. Favorites: Clue, Monopoly, The Game of Life, Taboo, Trivial Pursuit, Pictionary

Going to the shack!

loved the Babysitter Club books!
My Grandad used to take me, my sisters and my cousins to the park every Sunday, and we'd all get 20p to spend on sweets. Which, back then, actually got you a small bag full of them.

My Grandmother. She passed away when I was 10 and the memories I have with her are the greatest things I can remember about my childhood.

that's really sweet. I'm glad you have those memories!
I most enjoyed playing, particularly playing "fort" (building a fort out of sticks, and defending it with "bows" and "arrows" made from sticks) and soccer with my cousins. I also liked Slip-N-Slide and riding my bike. I can still enjoy television shows, movies, and books geared toward children, but I don't feel the same urge to play for play's sake like I did when I was younger, so those remain my most cherished childhood memories.

forts were awesome! It is sad that we lose that desire to play for play's sake.
-90's music

-My old little apartment

-Believing in Santa!

-Makin mud pies

-Manhunt!

-Slip-n-Slide, a slide covered in mud, and a kiddie pool...hell yes.

-Good television.

-Building forts in the bedroom

Third Eye Blind, Collective Soul, POGS, Weebles, Easy Bake Oven, Spice Girls, Nickelodeon shows like Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, Invader Zim, Ren and Stimpy, and the like, Pokemon, and last, but definitely not least, Harry Potter! I've grown up with the books and movies.

That and my grandparent's house. I loved going there every other weekend when I was supposed to be with my dad. He didn't come, so we'd go to my grandparents' house. Papal would take us to his workshop in the basement and teach us about tools, and Gramma would teach us to cook, and we'd go swimming in the neighborhood pool... Great memories. Sadly, Papal passed when I was 12, and Gramma now has advanced dementia and doesn't really remember any of it. But I've got some amazing memories to reflect on. 🙂

Having my cousins living around the corner from me and basically spending so much time together that it was like I had two houses, rather than one. I don't think I have a childhood memory that isn't tied to them.

Playing every sport under the sun with those same cousins. Street hockey in the morning, soccer in the after noon, then tennis, baseball in the evening and rugby at night. God, I was such a tomboy! lol

Christmas night when all my family would have a party in my house.

Going on days out with my brother and grandmother. Every Christmas eve we'd go somewhere and then look at all the christmas lights in the evening. My grandma would spoil us rotten and we'd always have a really good day. Was about the only time my brother and I got along.

Also watching Sabrina, Teen Angel and Boy Meets World.
My sister and I would also pull pranks on my brother. Once we put him in a (clean) bin and rolled him down the stairs and another time we dressed him up as a fairy and put nail varnish on him. He had to go into infant school with it still on as we didn't have any remover. Was all good fun though, he never minded that much.

Sabrina! <3
My mom. She's an awesome person and my dad wasn't around a lot, so anytime spent with mom was awesome!

And my grandmother and dad used to take me to the library every week. My brother and I would pick books and then we'd get to go out to eat. That was always a really great time.

I was obsessed with Disney and Roald Dahl. 😀

Spending most of my days outside with all the neighborhood kids. Climbing trees, playing seven tiles, jumping on the trampoline, hide n seek, making go carts, running through the sprinklers, AYSO soccer games on Sunday mornings, playing N64, setting up lemonade stands.

Everything. I loved my childhood. I had an amazing childhood.

Since the first grade, my parents told me, if my grade average in the end of the year is 5.0 I can pick anywhere I want to go, and we'll go there. That meant I have to have A's in all of my subjects as a final grade. That lasted for 4 years, and then when I started 5th grade and when things got harder, they had put the line on 4.5 grade average. That lasted for about 8 years, until my brother was born. I guess my favorite experience is going to Disneyland when I was 10.

My parents, of course, nothing else could ever be that great, and my grandmother, who told me and all of my cousins stories about her own childhood, and about her parents living through Georgia when Sherman (may he burn eternally in hell!) brought his army through in his (in)famous "march through Georgia," and life after the Civil War, nothing whatsoever like the history books tell it.

And, of course, Peppy, my pit bulldog, protector, baby sitter, guardian, best friend, and the greatest dog that any boy could ever be lucky enough to grow up with.

Playing Bloody Murder, football, and softball with neighborhood kids almost every night in the summers.

Bike riding! (I seriously suck at it now. My balance apparently disappeared as I aged.)

Going to my great-grandparents' house on Sunday afternoons after church. Grandma Flo had a drawer in her kitchen totally dedicated to candy, and she always had Oreos for me. She had a big table in her living room that always had a puzzle going on it, so we would all work on it together.

How everything was simple. We had this group of friends, 10 of us, and we hanged out all the time. We we practically together from the morning till the night. And then, girls got boobs, guys became rude, and we drifted apart. I miss how simple things were back then..

My best friend. He lived next to me with his dad and his older brother. His brother was much older than him, and his mother past away few months after he was born. For 10 years, he was everything to me. Then he had to move away because of his dads job. We stayed in contact for about a year trough the phone, he even came over two or three times and I went to his house once, and then, we just lost contact. I haven't heard from him in 4 years.. I really do miss him, and mostly I wonder how our relationship would be now.

Christmas dinners. Those were the best. Our house was always full of people because my mom loved hosting parties.. now, it's all different. Most of my parent's friends got split up and some of them are really not in the speaking terms, so we really celebrate Christmas for a week.. most of the times is exhausting.

Reading everything I could get my hands on- Secret Seven, Famous Five, Mallory Towers, Babysitter Club. Days at the zoo, holidays and spending days on the swing in the garden!

Hmmm. Watching cartoons (a lot!) on Cartoon Network. The song 'Viva Forever' by Spice Girls and 'I'm Blue' by Eiffel 69. I remember how my mom always was bringing me Spice Girls' lollipops after work. I remember me and my cousin watching Power Rangers. My grandfather was doing me a lot omelettes with sugar. 😀 And me eating a lot of Kinder Surprise. And Cheetos. When I was 6 I was crazy about Britney Spears (I still like her, but not that much). My family was always laughing when I was dancing choreography from 'Oops...'.
Great memories.

Cartoon Network and Kinder Surprise (and probably all Kinder products) were one of the most memorable parts of my childhood also :)
