Best ways to frame others for murder?

Okay, to begin with, I'd like to point out that I'm not planning on killing anybody or anything. I'm simply writing a fanfiction to a movie and the plot is that a guy, who is indeed the killer, is being suspected for murder and must come up with a way to frame another person.

The trouble is that I can't come up with any ways to frame. So I'm turning to BB.

Weather you thought of it yourself, read it in a book, saw it in a movie, it actually happened in history, however it came about, what are some good ways to frame others for murder?

Well for one... if the guy has been caught and questioned and is now thinking of ways to frame another person for murder then he's already dead in the water... a good criminal genius plans his scape goat before he starts his killing spree :judge:

Unless of course his plan was to get himself charged and then have faked evidence found that would lead a jury to find him innocent. That way he would get away with it permanently due to the fact you can't be put on trial for the same crime twice. Even if he was later suspected again he would be safe.

Not that i'd be that devious or sneaky of course! 😉

Hasn't the Double Jeopardy law been changed now... but if that were the case, you could have a nifty sequal where family member seeks revenge on free man... building a case, going slightly hoopla over the fact the killer is free and in turn commits murders the same way the original guy did but this time framing the real murder but becoming what they despise as a result of it......... Oooooooooooooo :lol:

DNA is always a classic. If your suspect-guy could somehow plant/ have planted blood, hair etc. from the guy he's trying to frame at the murder scene, it wouldn't look good. Skin under the murder victims fingernails, from when the victim tried to defend themselves, stuff like that.

Or perhaps the ABC like thingy. This person then goes out and kill another person that is somehow related to the first one, but there is nothing to relate him to the killer. Just to be on the safe side s/he might do it a few more times just to make the link between the first victim and the killer her/himself seem trivial.

I think I might have watch one too many movies.

How about, the person who wants to frame somebody writes a screen play and invites the innocent about-to-be-framed person over for a reading.
While reading, the whole thing is tape-recorded, and then the person who is said saying the dialogue about killing somebody is a sure-fire way to get them locked away for good. It's a confession that they didn't even know they were making.

*I think I read this out of a book. I think it was from "DeathTrap" by Ira Levin. So, if you're going to use the idea, please be advised that I believe the idea was in that book. You'll have to check.

The "Double Jeopardy" law is only a US thing as far as I know. I'm not sure about the UK, but here in the Great White North, they can charge multiple times...

I could be wrong about this but i'm pretty certain it applies here in the UK too.

I'm not certain that it has come about under the same legal precedent as in the US but i don't believe you can be tried for the exact same crime twice over here either.

I'm sure recently the Double Jeopardy law here was quashed, no longer in use... 🙂
