So every week Miss Summers had a new demon to fight whether it be personal or mythical... but which baddy was the best? We had the average run of the mill weekly baddies then we had the ones that could cause an apocalypse.. The Master, The Judge, Angel, The Mayor (I Wanna Be A Big Snake), Adam, Glory, Willow or The First Evil..

So who were the scariest? Who were the most well written?

My answer to this has to be a weekly demon that still scares me.. largely because I saw the episode when I was about ten anyway.. do you remember Der Kinderstod... the child death guy? Yeh, well he scared me big time and the whole storyline that went with Buffy's cousin dying from it killing her like eight years before she saw it was brilliant... well for a weekly monster anyway... what about your views?

Yeah the child death guy was super scary with his huge teeth!!
I really liked Glory. She was so funny and very evil at the same time. I also liked how she was able to intimidate Buffy into thinking that there was no way she could beat her.

As for weekly demon, I would have to say Mr. Trick. Even tjough he was only in a few eps, he was still good.

For me, if we are talking out and out bad guys (by which i mean not including those that went both sides of the tracks like Angel, Spike and Faith) it HAS to be the Mayor! The guy was (hell, IS!) a legend and they should give him his own damn show, lol!

I *heart* the Mayor!

The mayor is one of my favorites!!!
^ I agree. Even though Glory was funny, her type of character has been seen before. The mayor, not so much. I mean, he was just utterly ridiculous. Glory was really good, too, though. My second favorite has to be Angel. I mean, Buffy absolutely loved him, and he tortured her and her friends. That was really tough on her. I mean, imagine if you had to kill the one person you were truly, madly in love with. As far as scariest, I'd have to say the Gentlemen. They were scary. *Shivers*

I love the bad Guys in buffy cuz each of them are such amazing characters!!

And I would have to agree with The Watcher about The Mayor being the best baddie, I mean he was just so brilliant with all his little quirks, so entertaining to watch.
I loved Glory as well, she was so funny. And I thought Willow worked really well as a bad guy, I remember watching them and just being like "That's not Willow"

On Weekly monster basis, I remember Der Kinderstod, also because I was young when I watched that, Him and the baseball coach demon, from season 1 where the only demons that actually freaked me in the series!

gotta go with the Gentlemen...those guys freaked me out!! that freaky smile still haunts me in my dreams!!

The Arcane
Definately the creepiest bad guys i saw on the show!
As a big bad I also have to go with either The Mayor or Glory. One minute they can be so funny, then they can turn in an instant to be so intimidating. Also, The Mayor's obviously genuine care for Faith and germaphobia gave him so many layers as a character.

As a monster-of-the-week I found Gnarl to be particularly creepy, and funny in some strange way. Maybe it's just me...

I loved Gnarl! Really demonic looking ... well ... demon! :)
I'd have to agree with many of you and say Glory and The Mayor, they were both very different yet very powerful. I agree it was amazing to see how well Glory intimidated Buffy and it was also nice to see how The Mayor cared for Faith in his creepy fatherly way aswell as set out to destroy the world and become a big demon snake creature.

As for the weekly not so bad baddies i'd have to say there were quite a few i liked, i'd go with Sunday 'Freshman - S4', purely because she was extremely witty, hell she even put up a great fight against Buffy, broke Buffys 'Class Protector' award and mangled up Buffys arm. I also loved the way she said 'Freshman', it was funny.

Also The Trio weren't that bad, they were hileriously funny, they thought they knew exactly what they were doing yet kind of... didn't. I thought it was extremely funny aswell when Jonathan jumped on Buffys back when they tried to rob the bank truck. hehe 😀

I'm torn between the mayor and evil-willow and evil- spike myself. The mayor was the "nice guy" but bad guy, and spike in the old days was just plain funny- like evil but going to break all the rules and be as annoying to you as possible kinda way, always in it for the fun. And I just really liked evil Willow.... I think Alyson Hannigan did an awesome job on her role, and it was really cool in an eerie sort of way to see that side of her

The mayor was one of my favorites.

I'd have to say though that evil Willow and Angelus were up there because they were characters that (when they were good) we had grown to know and love and so we cared about them. All of the horrible things that they did were so much worse because of who they were.

Big bad: Drusilla (no one is even close!)

Monster-of-the-week: Vampire Willow

I really liked Faith and Glory. Faith was always a badass, but I don't think she was ever actually evil, just vulnerable, and she was taken advantage of, I thought this was cool on Buffy, coz it wasn't ordianary. Glory was the total opposite, all things evil in some pretty little body which can blow theSlayer away, and her love for fashion and being pampered was fresh on Buffy.
