I'm really not a fan of Adam Baldwin because I think he is a show killer! It seems like every show they put him in (Angel, Firefly ect.) gets cancelled prematurely. Also, I can never understand why a grade Z actor like Baldwin gets a lot of acting work, but a highly skilled actor like Alexis Denisof gets no acting work at all in Hollywood.

What the flip?!

You can't blame him for being in 2 shows that were cancelled.
I will also defend his acting. He is quite a good actor and quite recognisable in both Film and TV because of this very reason.
I would definitely not place him at Z list. That is for the likes of Reality TV Stars not actors that have a very successful career.

Adam Baldwin is an awesome actor and so clearly better as Jayne! Jayne is one of the funniest kick- butt characters on the face of the planet!

I'm gonna have to say Jayne, even though I've only watched disk 1 of the Firefly series so far.
I think Hamilton was a rather "bland" character and he didn't get much time to BE much of anything but a walk on thug.
Before the first episode of Firefly was over, my brain no longer saw him as "Evil". Which I think must have come from X-Files and carried over into Angel and then carried over into "Chuck". I was really afraid he'd just be this guy that kind of gave me the creeps.
But, 1 episiode and he had me giggling and wishing he had more screen time.
I'd say that's a minor miracle.

When I first started watching the eps on my Box set of Firefly I couldn't stop laughing whenever Jayne was on screen. I didn't even realize he was in other shows that I'd seen. I completely blocked him out as a walk on character and then as soon as I saw him on Firefly i just couldn't get enough of him. He just has to give you this stupid "I'm a lummox you'll have to explain things to me 20 times" face and I cackle!

xxAngiexx

Of his Whedon roles, I prefer Jayne, but I've never seen him in a part that I felt was bad due to his acting. Adam is a professional actor and a craftsman who brings his expertise to every role he plays.

I prefer him as Jayne but thats because Hamilton isn't really a likable guy...he's great in both roles

Well hes great in both roles so its a tough choice. But in the end Hamilton was too much a symbol of authority and was the one that hurt Illyria, a character I like more than him so...Hes just cooler as Jayne anyway so I voted for that.

"Lets be bad guys."

I'm with Buffy Summers, I didn't even like the guy until I saw him on Firefly, he was OK in "Angel" but did not make an impression on me at all.

I preferred him on "The Inside" though.

Adam Baldwin is definetely better as Jayne. He's a funny guy who kicks major butt. Hamilton is a guy who kicks major btt but is pretty stiff. Jayne is the classic dumb, neanderthal action character eery story is suppose to have.

I just watched Jayne/Hamilton in an episode of the Outer Limits. He was a voice of reason and understanding. I liked this character alot. He was the second in command of a base on mars. Season 4 episode 20 - Phobos Rising. As in all episodes, there is a group/person who is over reacting and or being paranoid, and another person/group who is trying to understand. The person in charge however was paranoid and after a false belief of an event that didn't happen she made horrible decisions, and she payed the price with her life along with everyone else on the base that she doomed to death. They were on a mars base, their was another mars base who they thought destroyed the earth so she went crazy and every little thing that went wrong blamed it on them and everything spun out of control! Anyways Jayne survives, along with one other, we later find out that the moon was destroyed not the human race, and she killed the other people for no reason.

Now that I've went on a tangent, I liked the character he played alot. (called James)

:silly:

there is no denying that what ever role adam is cast in that he puts forth 210% and you just want more. i loved jayne first and hamilton second, as did most browncoats did. i think with the way jayne was developed and since he made such a great public relations mercenary, i'll have to say the hero of canton! but i think adam is just amazing and that i would love any work he does.

I like him much better as Jayne, Hamilton did not have as much of a personallity and Jayne cracked me up. I think one of my favorite Jayne moments is when Simon drugs him because of his leg and then Mal is fighting with some people and Jayne is up laying on the stairs and just as this big guy is about to stab Mal Jayne shoots him in the leg and Mal is like nice shot and Jayne says I was aiming for his head. That just cracks me up!
