Better Boyfriend

Well, do you prefer a boyfriend to be:
Abusive, betrayer, distant, woman hater?
I'm straight, I have no desire for a boyfriend preferences at all. Do you mean what do I think a better boyfriend for Buffy would be? I answered that already.

And what does his name have to do with this?
Nothing. Why? Other than the fact it helped my joke but that was pretty damned obvious!

I meant a boyfriend in the general sense. Not for you, not for Buffy. Not for me either, since I have no desire for a boyfriend......

Lol. I did not get that, sorry. It's true about Angelus though 🙂

But that is a trick question as each person looks and needs something different in a mate. So perfect boyfriend for A may be absolute pants for B.

Well if I had to choose Spike.

There will always be a difference between the two to me on the show Buffy. Spike was a character on his own and always stayed that way and well as much as I love Angel no he wasn't in my eyes.

So when choosing someone to be Buffy's boyfriend they would have to be strong willed and able to speak up and say the not so pretty things at times so my choice is Spike. I think he was also better for Buffy because he let her lead and do her thing while Angel was always trying to save her. Buffy is the slayer she doesn't always need saving. I don't say this because I enjoy Spuffy more but if Riley was a choice I would probably say him and let Spike, Angel and Cordy be the trio they should be 😛

If we have ever learned anything from these damn shows it would be...

Don't date vampires!!

I suppose if that did not factor in I would choose...

Spike. He is a very passionate and loyal man(vampire, whatever). He would make the perfect lapdog. XD

Don't date vampires is very good advice!! Lol.
Ugh. I sort of hate this question because even though I'm MUCH more attracted to Spike, I'm not deluded enough to think he'd be a good boyfriend for me. In fact, I know i'd probably end up staking him out of pure infuriation at some point. Personally, Angel would probably be my perfect match *seethes quietly*.

EDIT: and I just realized that I mis-interpreted the question. Unfortunately, I think my answer is still relevant in the general boyfriend sense as well.

So many things I want to comment on... Sco's preferences in a man, kean's sucky boyfriend material-ness (and what this means for keandiann), and who my pick would be.

For me, i'd sill pick angel. Call me superficial, but i'm picking on looks. They'd both make suckass boyfriends, so i'm gonna go with the one who is super smoking hot. (That's be angel for the visually handicapped aka spike fans)

The closest sco would ever get to a man would be a hermaphrodite. And that might even be... a hard spot to be in.
I really can't be objective here. They both have their flaws and their good sides.. for me to choose, it would be what kind of boy I would prefer. If I would choose on who do I think treated Buffy better, I would say Angel.. that's why I like Bangel.

I choose option R.

Riley Finn.

Neither Spike nor Angel are boyfriend material, they are good characters but in the real world Spike would be in jail for being a psycho stalker and Angel would probably be a brooding dark man who no one wants to talk to cause he's just so depressed all the time.

So I choose Riley lol he is a normal boy with normal aspirations and a normal amount of concern for his girl and he also had the right balance of when to break up, he didn't do it too soon (like Angel) and he didn't get all clingy and act out for her attention (like Spike), he knew when it was the right time and when it was over and he left.

Scobro, there are so many dirty jokes running though my head now. I'm refraining. Perhaps a poor choice of words though my friend. It must have been "hard" to articulate though.

Kean, ours is a forbidden love.

I love this topic! Great idea!

Personally, I love Angel's morals and ideals. He's willing to put who he loves first, not the love itself. He's loyal, but realistic. If I had to choose between the two, I'd definitely pick Angel, and find a way to make that pesky soul permanent!

Well, there's that and the fact that Spike really annoys the hell out of me and I don't like his character much. lol

This.
Hmm, not an easy question, because I think everyone has different expectations of a relationship and of a boyfriend. Which may be suitable to one woman can not be suitable to another woman...

Personnaly, I would say Spike, based on his relationship with Buffy and the way he acts with her once he has his soul. He's loyal, passionnate, he gives support, love, trust, respect, and doesn't expect anything in return. He has his own weaknesses, but keeps believing in the woman he loves, by giving her faith in herself. In despite of his attitudes as a rebel and sarcastic, he's a good man who follows his own motto. Even if he's not perfect (who loves perfection anyway ?), I think he's a wonderful boyfriend to the women he loves. That said, it depends of the quality of the relationship and the way they know each other, and the ability of facing the bad in the relationship.

Angel, I'm not sure that I would trust a guy like him. He's a good man most of the time, but I think he's unstable and I don't like his way of taking decisions for women who are supposed to be his equal...

Riley is a very nice guy, loyal, very respectful, but a little bit too quiet. This is appealing to some women, so this is not necessarily a bad thing, but it can be too boring to some other women on a long term relationship. But I think he can be really good to the woman he loves, which makes of him a good boyfriend. But not necessarily the most interesting one. It depends too on his way of dealing with things on a bad period in his girlfriend's life... His way of being in surface doesn't make everything in order to judge him as a good or bad boyfriend. Again, I think it depends of the relationship and the degree of emotional connection with his girlfriend.

Miss Kitty !!! I cannot believe you're on Buffy Boards ! What are the odds? 🙂 (She is a friend of mine and we both are on another French Buffy forum!)
And to answer the question, I'd say either Angel or season 7 Spike. But Riley is great too. Neither of them is a bad boyfriend anyway 😉 Not only because they're hot, but because they can be so devoted and caring.
