But that makes River a better fighter! River exists in a separate universe to Buffy, Angel and Spike, so she will never have to fight Angel or Spike, she can read everyone in her verse, making her better then Angel and Spike in theirs so she is a better fighter!

They're all very good fighters but I think River is by FAR the best. Her fighting looks the coolest too, lol. I just love how graceful she is!

Of the characters listed, I would have to say that, by the end of the "Angel" series, Spike would have to be the best fighter in the Buffyverse. My reasons for saying it are simple: by that time, he had either beaten or fought to a standstill every other fighter mentioned, with the exception of River.

He almost beat Buffy the first time they fought, and it was only through the fortuitous intervention of a mom and a fire axe that our favorite Slayer wasn't either killed or turned right then.

When there was something that really mattered to Spike (the Cup of Eternal Torment, combined with its prophecy), Angel, by his own admission, got his ass kicked.

No, he never fought River, for obvious reasons, (though, immortal vampire and all, if we accept that the Serenityverse is part of the Buffyverse without the demons, they could square off someday, especially if you accept the theory that River is in some way connected to the Slayer line).

Now, if we were to include Illyria in the list, especially at here peak of power, well...

I think all of them are strong but River is definetly the strongest. (She can shoot people with her eyes closed!) Also, she reminds me up Illyeria in Time Bombwhen she easily staked Angel and Spike and killed Lorne and Wes. She just goes crazy and kills everything in her way (River, I mean...). River also defeated all those vicious Reavers in Serenity. All these things proved, to me at least, that she could pretty much destroy anything she wanted to.

I voted for River - at least if weapons are involved. Her style is better, she's next to impossible to surprise because of her psychic abilities, and by the same token she'll be able to see and exploit her opponents' strengths and weaknesses, she probably sees their moves coming before they do. Plus, she's excellent with firearms whereas Buffy, Spike and Angel seem to have a problem with them - at least they were loathe to use them despite the obvious advantages. Granted she's physically weaker, but she was able to take a punch pretty well in the movie. And last but not least she's a lot smarter.

Without weapons though I think the the raw physical strength and constitution of vamps and slayers would overpower her.

What is it she says immitating Kaylee? "No power in the verse can stop me."
River would be most suited to fighting, mainly due to Summer being a trained dancer. River would be able to balance naturally, and because of her being able to move like liquid she is able to attack two or three places simultaneaously. Also if you look at Buffy's/Sarah's knuckles you can see that she is totally unsuited to bare fist fighting.

As much as I love Buffy and it pained me to not vote for her, I had to not...I think River is. I could watch her move all day.

It killed me to do it but I had to go with River...I saw serenity before I saw Firefly and I was just mesmerized by how she moved.

Ditto, she is so a 26th Century Slayer :p
I know!!!! She's incredible. I can't wait to finally see Firefly. I have only seen Serenity so far.

You're going to love Firefly! the pilot is a little depressing but the rest is better :)
Judging by the sequences where it is obviously the actor and not a stunt double, I have to put my money on James Marsters. His movements are more fluid, and he combines speed and balance in a way that indicates excellent potential power. Summer is a dancer, and she photographs quite well doing martial arts techniques due to her dance training, but the power just isn't there. Spike wouldn't have any trouble taking her out.

But River is a 'reader', she'd dodge any lunge that Spike could make.
I take it you didn't notice the 6 shot repeater 12 gauge that River is pointing at Spike, it might not kill him, but the bit of wood in the other hand would/wood/would.

Buffy can kick spike's ass, so if Spike can kick River's and he kicked Angel's that one time ^.^ ... Then Buffy would win! But since Faith can kick Buffy's Faith wins :lmao:

Go back and check the series. Buffy NEVER kicked Spike's ass. Whenever they fought, they were always interrupted before a conclusion, hense no bitten Slayer or dusted vamp. They were almost perfectly matched as fighters.
I can remember Spike had Buffy up against the wall, eh, what ? oh, you mean they weren't fighting. So when Buffy told Spike she wants to be on top that wasn't about fighting either ? tch tch tch naughty girl. But whenever they fought they were always interrupted, oh that was about fighting.

Thats a thought what if the story in the film is about Spike's and Buffy's baby ?

If Buffy and Spike had a daughter, they coulk call her Peg (Get it? A Peg is a small Spike.)
Quite so white avenger.
but then again.
Considering that Spike may be reluctant to have a church service, and because of Buffy's name letters B uffy A nne S ummers TARD comes to mind.

Telepathy doesn't work on Vampires, remember "Earshot"?, so unless Spike tells her or lies down for a full cerebral scan during the fight I don't think so 😀

River'd slice him up anyway.
