See a very light paraphrase it amused me...but seriously now

Save Lives in May

Save Lives in May pt 2

Believe it or don't, hoax or reality....thats up to you, but i thought i'd post for all those who want to read about a possible impending disaster on Atlantic rim.

So to all those who live on the West Coast of America, and anywhere else, friends hope to speak to you all on the 26th🙂

I remember shortly after that tsunami struck in the Indian Ocean, the US news media were looking for any American tie-in to relate. There's the theory that a giant slab of one of the Canary Islands will eventually slide into the sea, sending a 150 ft wave towards the east coast.

And in Wyoming, Old Faithful is supposedly overdue in going postal with a supervolcano mega eruption. I think there was a cheapie disaster movie or Discovery Channel special or something...

I linked this over at after-darkness. Kinda fun...

Pheww you had me worried there DDLM. I was worried that something was going to interfere with the season finales of 24, Alias and Lost. Little sad though that I will have to wait awhile for the new X3 movie.

Not to worry the "good Aliens" Julien is in psychic contact with will no doubt download X3 to keep earth's culture alive. Find a laptop, and a high piece of ground. They'll probably beam it down.

My personal prophet - the great Randi - predicts this catastrophe won't happen. Here's what he has to say.

Incurable sceptic that I am, I'll still be out looking at the meteor shower, exhibiting excellent dignity, and wondering what Eric Julien will offer as his alibi when we aren't all drowned"¦ I have to also wonder what he's smoking, and whether he thinks he invented Caesar's calendar"¦

Visiting his incredibly long and copiously illustrated discussion at quanthomme.free.fr/energieencore/anglaisericjulien.htm will convince you that you've encountered the ultimate in egocentric, totally deluded individuals "“ and you should bear this in mind on May 26th, after his firm prophecy "“ with all its involved numerological, Biblical, crop-circles, "proof," falls on its nose. Julien won't be in any way discomfited at the prophecy's failure; he'll make incredible rationalizations and then just sail along as before. These nutters are never wrong, they just can't be discouraged by any evidence that they're demented.

However, we must note, Julien has a built-in escape-hatch here. Slyly inserted into his massive tirade about the "tens of millions" of victims, is a provision. He says the massive tsunamis will take place

Except if, of course, the leaders go into reverse. That enormously will depend on you, of the actions that you will take to convince them of their folly!

Yes, it's perhaps unkind of me, but I can see the possibility that this deluded man will decide "“ and declare "“ that there were enough "positive vibes" sent out as a result of his warning, that world leaders reversed their attitudes and the "higher intelligences" out there graciously diverted the comet debris to cancel the catastrophe.

In less than 20 days, you'll see. Yes, this is presented to you in ample time for you to follow, step-by-step, a case of full-blown delusion at work.

I get the biggest kick out of the way Julien's prophecy comes with a kind of "get out of jail free" card. If anything like a meteor hits the earth on thursday, he was right, and we should have listened to the warning he got from the good aliens. If thursday comes and goes with no disaster then that means Julien saved the world by warning enough people to create positive vibes which beamed up to the good aliens, and they saved us.

Every time any meteor passes within a million miles of Earth, some nut-job offers to save the world from imminent destruction. Do you remember the last one? I think it was Halley-Bop. That Raelian guy (I think it was) had his followers committing suicide. Halley-Bop came and went though, and no-one died except the suicidal Raelians.

Oh, OK, yeah I remember now. The Raelians were those guys who sucked the world media into publicizing them, by claiming they'd cloned a human baby.

So many weirdo Alien religions around now it's easy to get mixed up. Thanks for the link though. Hey did you break out laughing when you read this?

Applewhite convinced 39 followers to commit suicide so that their souls could take a ride on a spaceship that they believed was hiding behind the comet.

It's OK, you don't have to admit it. Some people are sensitive about that sort of thing. Just between me and you though 😉 I did a spit take, and had to wipe coffee off my monitor screen.

You know there are people out their who are freaking out right now and stockpileing food and boarding up their houses. And if they think this is bad...they should just wait until 6/6/06...apparently its the day of doom...people are so superstitious...obviously im not one of them...

Besides no tsunami is hitting here on MY horse's birthday...which i only just remembered was thursday...or tomorrow now cause its after midnight, because of this thread...i was still thinking it was like the 10th or something...

Y...they should just wait until 6/6/06...apparently its the day of doom...people are so superstitious...obviously im not one of them...

But 6-6-06 IS the day of doom.....it's the day that smelly turd remake of "The Omen" opens in theaters! Nooooooooo......[ ** screams like a girl and runs away as the theme music from "Psycho" plays in the background** ].

As for all these prophecies and so called portents of doom, I've always thought they were nothing but a load of hooey. They make for great movies though. Well...sometimes.

Now, see, I've always heard that it may be a mistranslation from the Greek, or something? that Satan's magic number is actually 616, not 666.

The number 666 retains a peculiar significance in the culture and psychology of Western societies. Just as many people try to avoid the "unlucky" number 13 (a fear of which is called "triskaidekaphobia"), so people find ways to avoid the "Devil's number", even in contexts that would seem on first sight to be far removed from superstition. The fear of the number 666 is known as "Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia".

For example, when the giant CPU manufacturer Intel introduced the 666 MHz Pentium III in 1999, they chose to market it as the Pentium III 667 on the pretext that, since the actual clock speed was 666.666 MHz, 667 was the more accurate approximation"”conveniently ignoring their own usual rounding practice: as examples, consider the earlier 66.666 MHz 486-66, the 466.666 MHz Celeron 466, or the later 866.666 MHz Pentium III 866.

In Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Chancellor Palpatine (aka. Darth Sidious, the Star Wars main villain) issues an order to kill all the Jedi to Clone Trooper Commanders across the Star Wars Galaxy. In the modern numerologic system(a=1..z=8), the numerical value of the word Order is 6. This makes 'Order 66' a symbolic equivalent of the number 666.

In another instance, U.S. Highway 666, "the Highway of the Beast," was renumbered in 2003 after controversy over the supposed reference to the Biblical beast, which also made the road signs a common target for theft. [3].

So I guess today is the day of the great meteor blast. Everyone still alive out there? Seen any aliens? :silly:

'Alien message' sparks tsunami panic

A website warning of a tsunami has spread panic in Morocco, despite the government's assertion that the alert was merely rumour - and the dubious nature of its source.

The Ufological Research Centre said on its website last week that a tsunami could hit the Atlantic after a comet passes close to earth on Thursday, May 25.

Eric Julien, author of La Science Des Extraterrestres (Science of Aliens), claimed that the impact of a comet fragment would trigger powerful volcanoes in the Atlantic and generate a giant tsunami that would be destructive across the coasts of several countries, including Morocco.

Julien, who claimed to have received the information psychically, said that waves up to 200 metres high will reach coastlines of countries bordering the Atlantic.

The alert caused fear and panic among Moroccan citizens, though the Moroccan meteorological office dismissed it on Monday as insignificant.

The Moroccan news agency MAP quoted Mustafa Janah, the head of the Meteorological Office, as saying the comet would pass earth at a distance of about 10 million kilometres.

Citing the US space agency, Nasa, he ruled out any risk of a tsunami in the Atlantic Ocean.

Janah also said that "the Ufological Research Centre does not have technical means" to observe this kind of phenomenon.

But despite all the assurances, many Moroccan coastal residents have abandoned their homes and moved to higher ground, anxiously awaiting May 25.

Memories remain of the tsunami that hit Asia in 2004 and left up to 232,000 people dead or missing across large parts of the continent.

Less well known, however, is the track record of Eric Julien who, according to the Morocco Times, claimed in May 2004 to have been abducted by aliens who wanted to teach him to drive UFOs.

Hell, Mich., Heats Up for 6-6-6 Party

HELL, Mich. (AP) - They're planning a hot time in Hell on Tuesday. The day bears the date of 6-6-06, or abbreviated as 666 - a number that carries hellish significance. And there's not a snowball's chance in Hell that the day will go unnoticed in the unincorporated hamlet 60 miles west of Detroit.

Nobody is more fired up than John Colone, the town's self-styled mayor and owner of a souvenir shop.

"I've got '666' T-shirts and mugs. I'm only ordering 666 (of the items) so once they're gone, that's it," said Colone, also known as Odum Plenty. "Everyone who comes will get a letter of authenticity saying you've celebrated June 6, 2006, in Hell."

Most of Colone's wares will sell for $6.66, including deeds to one square inch of Hell.

Live entertainment and a costume contest are planned. The Gates of Hell should be installed at a children's play area in time for the festivities.

"They're 8 feet tall and 5 foot wide and each gate looks like flames, and when they're closed, it's a devil's head," Colone told The Detroit News for a Saturday story.

Mike "Smitty" Hickey, owner of the Dam Site Inn, wasn't sure what kind of clientele would show up Tuesday.

"We're all about having fun here. I don't think we're going to get the cult crowd, the devil worshippers or anything like that," said Hickey, whose bar's signature concoction is the Bloody Devil, a variant of the Bloody Mary.

Colone, meanwhile, has been in touch with radio stations as far away as San Diego and Seattle that are raffling off trips to Hell in honor of 6-6-6.

The 666 revelry is just the latest chapter in the town's storied history of publicity stunts, said Jason LeTeff, one of its 72 year-round residents - or, as the mayor calls them, Hellions or Hell-billies. But LeTeff wasn't particularly enthused.

"Now, here I am living in Hell, taking my kids to church and trying to teach them the right things and the town where we live is having a 6-6-6 party," he said.

I've been reading up on Global Warming and radical climate change since you turned me onto that idea Lost could be all about Polar Shift.

Of all these supposed apocalyptic warnings, global warming is the one that scares me. I don't think most people realize how fast, or how bad things can get once it finally decides to hit at full force. It seems to be the general consensus some sort of radical climate change will happen. Scientists just can't decide on when.

They say a pandemic is inevitable soon also, but I think I can ride it out through that one.

Yeah. I'm sincerely interested in how much is man-made and how much is natural, cyclical warming (or ice aging, or who the hell knows?!). The interpretations of the science seem to get very political. It seems like there are potential conflicts of interest all over the place. It's hard to know what's what.

There's that one nasty scenario where things heat up just enough to melt the ice caps. All the fresh water pours into the North Atlantic, messes with the saline levels and it shuts down the natural conveyer belt that brings warm waters to Europe. Britain, Northern Europe become more like northern Canada...

Well i watched a Panorama Special last night, which had some of the Top Scientists, one who was Chief Scientist for the World Bank no less, basically say thet if we don't take steps to change now, then within a time frame of 5-10 years it will most likely be too late to stop the ensuing 'Ice Age' that WILL happen(this is not a possibility, this is reality its only uncertain when).
I must also point out though, research i have carried out myself suggests that although we are pushing the environment to that state of affairs, its our very existence stopped the usual cycle of these Global Changes, so in essence we are not speeding anything up, we are already on 'Borrowed Time'.

no time, eh?
Wanna read a really good book?

Technically it's not about climate change. It's about attention deficit disorder, but it explains climate change as part of an evolutionary process in a way that's really easy to understand, and entertaining to think about.

He goes into what GB was talking about too. How global warming can actually lead to global freezing.

If you find it in the library you can just read the climate change chapter. It's called The Edison Gene.
