To me it would have been a full circle kinda thing. Jesse died right at the start of the show and so it would have been kinda cool to have him (in a fashion) back for the end.

Good point! I absolutely agree with you there. But the first didn't really have much use for Xander so I don't know how much of an impact Jesse would have had.

See, that is one of my big issues with season seven. The First should have focused on Xander a lot more than he did. He was the heart and soul of the Scoobies, the glue that held them together. Regardless of his lack of powers he was essential to the group. Finding a way to make Xander doubt himself or question his loyalty to Buffy should have been something the First considered and appearing as Xander's old best friend, a guy that died very soon after Buffy came into his life, could have been an interesting way to play that.

I think if they had got Eric back to play Jesse for a number of episodes it would have helped to bring Xander back to the forefront a little, rather than let him get lost in the background for so many episodes.

Ah well, no point worrying about that now. It didn't happen!

The First COULD have had use for Xander IF the writers upgraded him to the level he deserved in that final season.
HIS stand out performance at the end of Potential when he talks to Dawn proves not only how important his character was to the gang, but was to the entire show...another person wasted...

And Cordelia....again, not really feeling it. There are better opportunities for bring back Cordelia, hell Hell's Bells would have been a better chance then having her appear as the first, easpecially as at the time she was possessed by Jasmine or whatever, and that would have been so confusing...

Exactly. That's the only way I would've like Eric to play Jesse had he made an appearance. But other than that I still think Cordy would have rocked.

I'd agree that i wouldn't want to see Tara's final appearance be in CWDP as a form of the First but i would have liked Joss' original idea to have happened. The plan was for Amber to return as a recurring character, appearing as the First in several episodes and then being restored to life towards the end of the series thanks to a wish that Buffy had been granted, although you probably already knew that.

If the whole story arc had happened then i would very much have liked to see Tara as the First in CWDP. Especially if it meant getting the real Tara back at the end.

I'd agree that i wouldn't want to see Tara's final appearance be in CWDP as a form of the First but i would have liked Joss' original idea to have happened. I must admit i heard the Wish and the CWDP as separate pieces and didn't link the two...in this senario, i would totally have enjoyed a little bit of naughty Tara.....😉

I think to get more First Evil characters it should have gone like this:

The Master: Taunting the Potential Slayers who are all about the same age as Buffy was when she first faced him. Buffy could have confronted him and it would show how powerful and experienced Buffy has become. I'd also have liked him to appear in "Chosen" the night before the battle.

Drusilla: Was interesting to see with Spike. I think they got her in the right number of episodes. I was happy.

Mayor Wilkins: I would have liked more conversations with Faith. I would have liked him to tempt her into going rogue again that would have been interesting.

Adam: He couldn't really do much. If Riley was still there I would say that both he and Maggie Walsh should be haunting him.

Glory: She should have had lots of conversations with Dawn. We could watch Dawn become slowly influenced by her throughout the Season and then end it with Dawn realising what it truly means to have a family.

Tara: Should have appeared in "Conversations with Dead People". She should also have made Willow feel guilty over her relationship with Kennedy.

Jesse: Should have returned in "Chosen" to taunt Xander while he was preparing for battle and attempted to break down his relationship with Buffy.

Jenny Calendar: Should have returned throughout the Season to converse with Giles. Giles would slowly begin to break down emotionally.

Joyce: I felt the Season was building up to something that involved Joyce. I think the First should have become corporeal in the form of her and engaged in a climactic battle with Buffy.

Overall I think the Season finale was rushed. It should have been 2 hours long and had cameos from most of the original cast. I think the scene where Buff is walking down the hallway should have had her remembering everything over the past Seven years. Oz should have reappeared too. It would have been so much grander and affecting if they'd spent more time concluding the seven year story.

See, I don't think this one would have worked really.
Just because the potentials were the same age as Buffy was makes no difference. The 'threat' to the Potentials had to be something that was a threat to Buffy. Buffy had already faced this character and was far stronger, both physically and emotionally, to be influenced by it. No the best threat to the Potentials was the Turok Han.

More conversation would have been good, but i honestly don't think Faith should have been tempted to go 'Rogue'.
Now, one thing that may have been interesting is if Faith had been so upset by this vision, that she went, without back up, to face Caleb....but honestly, we didn't need anything much added to her character in that ending. Honestly, she is one of the few characters that if Chosen was re-written could be left just as is and I would not be disappointed.

See, i'm agreeing and disagreeing with this one. On some level I believe Dawn needs to face Glory to truly be able to define herself as a young, strong, powerful Summers Woman, however in terms of who best to undermine Dawn and her relationship with Buffy, thus everyone, should have been Joyce.

You could not be more wrong. The fact that Tara isn't in it, makes her character through-out the rest of the show more powerful. This is the first chance we see taht the First has limitations. Some of us(me and others) take the fact Tara couldn't be there as a sign that Tara was too good to be taken form by Evil. We took that if you have a pure soul, you can't be taken.

Had 'Conversations with Dead People' been a longer episode, then yes, it would have been interesting. However, the closer we got to Chosen, I actually doubt it would have been that successful as Xander is alot stronger than people thiink, and knowing that Jesse would have been the First, I don't think would phase him. I mean lets be honest here, the guy died 7 years ago. Yes they were friends, but how often was he mentioned after.
No, Jesse First had no power over Xander ONCE everyone knew it was the First.

Had Jenny died within the last couple of years, I would have been all for this, but as it was over 5 years since he lost her, and he had grown stronger in himself and had realised what he would be willing to do to ensure the victory of man, i don't think this would have worked, and it would not have been too believeable either.

Shock Horror, i'm going to........agree.
I think that they had something planned for Buffy/Joyce but totally lost out to other stories, so they made this weak assed one instead.
I don't think many people(including fans AND execs) would have liked to see Buffy fight the First-Joyce, but honestly, I think it would have been amazing.

Why and who?
Angel and Cordy was off doing the do in LA, Seth Green was busy, and in my opinion had no reason to be in that fight and ohh, who else is there that hasn't already had a cameo this season?

See this is what I love about Buffy, it stays away from Cliches, or at the very least tries to mock them and give a new twist. I have no idea why anyone would think this 'rememberance' thing would be a good idea for Buffy the Vampire Slayer....

They did conclude it though.
What needed a conclusion?
There are parts that needed more time but everything really that had been set up had been concluded to a sufficiently plausible point.

I couldnt imagine Tara as a force of evil. She was always the one that stabalized Willow. If it wasnt for her, then she would have gone DArk WAY sooner IMO. Tara is much too good for the first to use her.
