Do people think this show is funny? None of the characters are interesting, or reminiscent of real people. The writing isn't clever, and the plots are never original. Yet somehow this shit has got 5 seasons, glowing reviews, and has no end in sight.

I don't discuss shows on here often, but how does BB feel about this garbage?

Nope. I love Big Bang Theory 😛 I like how awkward and nerdy they all are. My only issue is the lack of character development.

As for the "No laughing track" video. It feels weird because they wait for the reaction of their live studio audience. Which is why they pause between jokes.
 
I watched every single episode and enjoyed them all actually! 🙂 no character develpment for sure, but I still find it funny. Not everything I enjoy must be dark and well written 😀
 
I used to dislike it but I've seen the light. Sheldon is by far the best character. Sometimes I just love the nerdiness of it.
 
A lot of people love it and I really can't understand why. I've watched a ton of it and can honestly say I've never even chuckled once. Terrible show. I'm a fairly "nerdy" person and I still think it's just bad.
 
I like it. It is by no means forwarding the art of comedy (but what Chuck Lorre show is?) but I enjoy it every time I watch and yeah, I do get some laugh out loud moments. Pluse, how can you not love Soft Kitty?

How I Met Your Mother, on the other hand, is a show I just do not understand the attraction of at all.
 
I really like How I Met Your Mother, but I think it's getting somewhat boring.
 
I love TBBT, not quite sure how to explain why though. I guess I just take it for what it is; a sitcom. Nothing to get involved in really, but just something to watch when I need a bit of mindless entertainment. As for the popularity of it, everyone has a different sense of humor. Just because you (the collective you, not anyone in particular) don't find it funny doesn't mean it isn't a good show. I know people who swear that Seinfeld is the funniest show ever but I've never cared for it personally. Just different strokes and all that.
 
It kind of reminds me of The Inbetweeners. Just...less funny.

I'm not really a fan of the show....but I caught the LOTR episode once and thought it was pretty funny. 😛

I love the show, and find it really funny very often. I agree that there is no character development, but I can relate to a lot of the nerdy aspects of the show!
 
I wouldn't put it in my Top 10, but I watch it somewhat often. I love Sheldon! It's not super witty, but entertaining.

It's rubbish and I love it. End of story.

I also like Gossip Girl and Glee so there's not much I can say. I enjoy some rubbish television sometimes. Life is rubbish and sometimes all you want to do is fall into something mindless and easy to watch.

It's never going to be laugh out loud funny but it's the closest I get to switching off my brain and that is sometimes all I want. Lets face it, watching something like The Walking Dead surely isn't going to help me get to sleep or stop thinking about what it means to be human is it now?!

Garbage because you don't like it? Harsh words. Sets the tone of the thread and some might hesitate to post if they're fans of the show.

I'm trying to make a difference between quality shows and shows I enjoy. When they mix it's great but that's not always the case. Tbbt may be more towards shows I enjoy than right out quality but compared to a lot of other things on tv I'd never call it bad. I enjoy this show a lot and not ashamed of it one bit. It's become more or a relationship sitcom than a nerdy sitcom and I'm not too happy about that. To me the best part of the show are Sheldon + Penny. Which my new t-shirt cleraly suggest. 😉

I'm a huge fan, for me it's one of the few laugh out loud shows that I've watched I got the dvd's a few months ago and I never really get tired of re-watching it.

I was sort of sold from the start though, then they really caught me with Sheldon's "I myself when I try to decieve display more ticks than a lyme disease research facility", lol, I'm sorry but I just find that hilarious 😀 So I don't get the hate at all, it's right up my alley
