The government has unveiled plans for a private company to run a "superdatabase" that will track all our emails, calls, texts, internet use and so on. This is an immense infringement of civil liberties, not to mention a major risk to our private data - but it won't make us any safer. The sheer amount of information that the Government intends to collect will be impossible to analyse properly and will undoubtedly turn up false positives while missing potential security threats amongst the morass of spam emails and private chat.

What do you guys think?

I don't know how anyone can see it as anything but it turning into a fascist state. Yay! 😛

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they already do most of that here. It's called the Department of Homeland Security, National Security Agency, and the PATRIOT Act. I don't feel any safer; in fact, I feel violated.

I am not concerned. We're all going to die of pig flu anyway. I'm tired fighting the fascist regime. I'm done.

I've always found it strange that America is the Land of the Free and all that jazz, but yet its population is under such scrutiny and with less civil liberties than a lot of other western countries.
