Illyria. Smarter, bigger array of powers and able to adapt her thinking. Plus time powers and dimensional travel- at least before the 'Timebomb' episode.

The Beast was a simple flunky, one that was dumb enough not only to leave his knife lying around but also turn his back on Angelus. D'oh!
